Safetymom:

Would you rather have Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 and is there a corner room that is in a courtyard?

Thanks!:thumbsup2
Jamaica and Aruba are mirror-images of each other. Aruba 51 and Jamaica 45 are on either side of the path leading from the bridge. I can't imagine why one of those buildings would be desired over the other.

I would prioritize any requests. You may not get all your requests so if the village is the most important put that first.

As safetymom said, all buildings have corner rooms, and all buildings have some courtyard view rooms.

If you don't reserve and pay for a water view, then you will NOT be asked to pay for it if they happen to give you a water view room when you check in. In other words, if you happen to get lucky, they won't tell you you must pay for it or you can't check in.

Good thing to know! Thanks!

I was picking from those b/c they were closest to the bridge to OPR. I just didn't know if anyone had a preference over the other.

Thanks. I was thinking it might have been noisier, but if that's not a factor, I think 1st floor, Jamaica 45, in a corner, courtyard is my final decision! Do you think this is to much to request of the CM?:lmao:

I've read that you should keep your requests simple, 1 to 2 things. I'm going to request Trinidad South, First Floor. I've learned to check out my room before bringing my luggage in. If I'm really not happy at that point then I go to the front desk and ask to be re-assigned.

Here's the view we had from the door of our courtyard room, Trinidad North 3128 (Building 31) -- can't beat a courtyard view for me! We sat at the tables, ate pizza, relaxed, so quiet and awesome!

I cannot wait to stay here in over Labor day. Thanks for all the posts and help everyone! :thumbsup2

Hi Gang,

I have a question for all you Cbr experts, having stayed at this resort in the past, we fell in love with it. The last time we stayed at this resort, we had a corner room, so we had two windows, my mom swears she only had one. My question is, do all the rooms have 2 windows or do some have only one?? I love the sunlight and would enjoy having two windows over one. Thank you all in advance!!

Btw if any of you are there aug 25 to sept 2 and see a guy with a FDNY t-shirt on, that most likely will be me, stop and say hello!!

Hello All!

I'm posting from the UK and I'd just like to say how great it has been reading this thread!

We are going to CBR in August and we are hungry for details!!! You all make it sound like an amazing place and we're getting very excited!

We don't really mind where we stay - it all looks and sounds great. We have booked a water-view room but maybe we should have read this thread first!!

Could you tell me - how does the luggage (and yourselves) get to your room after check in? Is something laid on or do you walk?

Cheers!:duck:

Your mom is correct :) Only the corner rooms have two windows, the rest have only 1

Have a great trip :)

It all depends on how you arrived at the resort.

If you are getting to your resort by Disney's Magical Express, the only luggage you will have with you is your carry-on bags. In this case, you are expected to walk to your room, or take the internal shuttle bus to the bus stop nearest your room and then walk from there.

If you arrive by car service/limo, after you check-in you will be offered a ride in a van by Bell Services -- they will drive you and your luggage to your room. They do this because they don't expect you to lug your heavy suitcases around the resort, and you are actually not permitted to take big suitcases on the internal shuttle bus (or on any Disney Transport bus).

If any of this does not make sense to you, please ask more questions.

And also ... :welcome: :disrocks: :earsboy:

I have many friends in the NYPD. I hold a high respect for the NYPD!!!! They indeed have the toughest job in the city and are the most underpaid! They deserve more than what they get!!

What boro does hubby work?? I'm in brooklyn, by the 69 pct, but we cover the 75 and 73 pcts as well.

Thanks for the info CleveRocks!! We are travelling with Virgin and not hiring a car so until all our tickets and stuff arrive we aren't too sure how we're getting to the resort but don't think it's DME.

We are very excited and counting down the days - we love all the amazing photos that you guys put up here - gives us a real feel of the place.

Can someone reassure us (yet again!) about the beds? Are they a decent size? (I know they're doubles) It's not really a worry for me and my husband but my two girls (12 and 14) - will they have enough room to get a good night's sleep?

Also, any opinions on Shutters? We are eating there the first night for convenience sake!

Thanks again - you guys rock!:cool2:

Sorry we're Pirating Safetymom:

He works as a detective in Brooklyn North Warrants.

What would be the best area to request a room, if you would like to be near the best bus stop, ( the first pick-up and drop off location).

If I request that room, what else would be a good idea to request?

Thank you,

Mike

If you booked your trip online throuh Disney, you should e able to do DME. It makes it vey easy. We have used it on our last two trips and it went off without a hitch. July will be our third trip in 18 months and we are actually going to have a car service pick us up at the airport this time so we can make a supermarket run in route to the hotel to check in. With the July heat, I want to stock up on water and some snacks as we will spend more time at the rsort this time (we usually go in Dec).

The beds are standard and what we do with our six year old is push the bed up against the wall and then put pillows on the other side so she won't fall out (rough sleeper). You can try that to help keep at least one from any mishaps. My Dh and I are used to a king bed and have no trouble in the double and he was sick on one trip.

Shutters - standard place, decent food, very convienent. Have only eaten there once as we tend to eat at Epcot, or do character meals.

Enjoy your trip - you'll love the resort.

This is kind of an odd question but what time does the food court close? If we get a refillable mug, can we refill it whenever we need to or just during certain hours? My family is a bunch of night owls so if it closes at a certain time I will make sure we have stuff in the room in case we want something.

TIA.

Buses heading to/from Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney start at Martinique.

Buses heading to/from Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom start at Jamaica.

So there's no such thing as the "best" bus stop.

Mouseplanet is confirming the rennovation of all buildings except Trinidad South. Link to the report from my sig below.

Safteymom....any reason they would be holding off on Trinidad South?

any idea when the pool will be ready? i looked at the mouse planet site and couldn't really tell - thanks so much - k
