Hi All,

I stayed at the Caribbean Beach resort in April and thought it was really nice although it was not very "Disney" if you know what I mean. I have just booked for Easter 2009 (Yes 2009)! and this time have chosen Port Orleans FQ as they were the same price.

Have I meade the right choice?

Love to hear from anybody,

Thanks

Steve

Welcome to the DIS. I thought CBR was very Disney. By 2009 CBR will have their new larger pool.

I think so! POFQ can't be beat for theming and size. All the buildings are just a hop skip and a jump from the pool, the front desk, the food court, and the bus stop. This said, you'd think it would be cramped and noisy, but the grounds are beautiful and you'd hardly know 1,000 other people were at that same resort!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did last August!

Recently stayed at POR and visited POFQ several times. The grounds are beautiful, liked the atmosphere. INO, it seems the biggest plusses of the FQ would relate to children: 1.) Compared to other resorts it is very compact so less walking around - lobby, bus stop, rooms, pool, food court all very close to one another 2.) Water slide looks really cool but is a very easy slide for young ones. I don't find CBR "Un-Disney" so I can't say whether you'd think the same thing about FQ, but, like all of the moderates and deluxes, it is very true to its chosen theme. HTH.

I have stayed at CBR several times and stayed at POFQ last year for the first time. We absolutely loved it. The smallness of the resort really appealed to us. When trying to book our trip for next summer, we kept coming back to POFQ, so that's where we are staying. We were really close to the bus stop (only one - big plus), close to the food court, and pool.

Thanks All,

Really appreciate the feedback. When I say CBR was "Not Disney" it was my first time at a Disney resort so I think I expected to see Micky and Donald everywhere but looking at most of the hotels that is not the case. I would definetly stay at the CBR again though. The only thing I would say that I found strange was that you cfould not get a cup of tea after 11pm which after coming back from the parks thats what we all needed!!

Thanks again for the feedback and it looks as if I have made the right choice. I suppose it is good try something different anyway.

Is there any that you would avoid?

Trying to add a ticker but keep getting this error

Could not find phrase 'error_postcount_too_low_post_links'

Can anybody help.

Thanks very much

Steve

You can't post a ticker until you have at least 10 points. If you want information or help you can visit the technical board.

Thanks again for the response, Just search for it using the search and sussed out how to add it, it shows that it is there but I assume then it will not show on my postings until I have the correct amount of points then?

All the best

Steve

WE have stayed at POFQ and CBR. I would choose POFQ for all of the reasons outlined here. My DGD was 5 at POFQ and 6 at CBR and she has stayed at the Poly and AKL. When I asked her where she would stay she wants POFQ. She told me she likes the slide, I guess that was enough for her.

I liked the theming as well as the compact layout.

Thanks Nancyg56, its seems like I have made the right choice, had some really positive feedback on POFQ. My sisiter - in -law is a member of the DVC and stays at the Beach club but unfortunetely that is a bit out of my price range!

Thanks again

Steve

I've never stayed at FQ, but we love CBR. I don't think FQ will be any more "Disney" than CBR. I think it you want a more "Disney" feeling you would have to go with All Star Movies, because they have some of the icons from Disney movies.

I think you'll love whichever resort you pick.

POFQ is my favorite moderate resort at WDW!!! LOVE this resort!!! It's small, so it's easy to get around this place.

Thanks mate,

Appreciate you getting back to me.

I also loved the CBR but heard that POFQ was really nice. CBR was my first time at a Disney resort so I did expect tro se Micky and Donald around every corner but was quite pleased I didnt as I found CBR to be really nice, stayed in Martenique.

Thanks again

We have stayed at both and we enjoyed POFQ much better! CBR was a nice resort, but we just LOVE POFQ!
