I'd like to get opinions on which one you like best of the two and why.

Also, do you prefer a certain section? Is it better to be close to the main entrance?

Any other hints or tips would be appreciated.

Having stayed at both, I recommend CSR, hands down. CBR, while very pretty, just doesn't compare, IMHO.

I think CSR has the most beautiful landscaping, the Dig Site pool area is wonderful, and the entire resort just oozes ambience. A walk along the lake at night is not to be missed, the bus service is great, and the food court is a cut above.

The main entrance (El Centro) contains check-in, bell services, food court, restaurant, lounge and gift shop. We were in Casitas 2, which was just a few minutes walk to El Centro, very close to a bus stop, but quite a hike to the Dig Site. There was a quiet pool there though.

We've stayed at both properties. We were not overly impressed with our rooms at CSR (Not quite as clean as our rooms have always been at POR. We did not care for the decor.). The queen sized beds and more room space are a plus at CBR. The slide is longer at the pool at CSR. The hammocks and white sand beach area are very relaxing at CBR. The food options are better at CSR. CBR has been refurbished.

I have also stayed at Coronado Springs and the Caribbean Beach Resort. I love both of them. Caribbean will always be my #1 because that is the first Disney resort we ever stayed at. The place is very colorful and you can rent boats and water mouses and play on the lake. The pool is also very neat. Coronado does have the BEST pool on property in my opinion. it has a pyramid in the middle and a great slide. The hot tub is also great and is huge. You really can't go wrong with either resort. I do suggest that if you choose Caribbean that you ask to be close to "Old Port Royale". This is the main area. The food court and pool area are located here. The Resort is huge and you could end up walking a lot depending on where your room is. Coronado Springs is also pretty big. but you need to pick either the pool area or food court area, as they are in different areas.

I have never stayed at CSR but it looks like a wonderful resort.

I have stayed twice at CBR and love this resort :) I have some web pages with pictures and information on them, click on the links below if you'd like to see them. :)

If you do choose CBR, I'd recommend either Martinique buildings 26, 25, or 24, OR Trinidad NORTH buildings 31, 32, 33. These buildings are all close to the food court, main pool, shops, bus stops, and quiet pools.

Happy planning! :)

:)

I have stayed at the CBR and I will be staying at the CSR in May with Piglet203. While I thought that the CBR was a great resort (I just wish I had more opportunity to spend more time there), I think that CSR might be better. There seems to be more to do there and the main pool looks so much better at CSR. The main pool at CBR was really small. I stayed in Trinidad South and although it was the farthest area from the food court, it was quiet and made for a nice walk in the morning, by myself. Be sure to check out Buzz2001's CSR website, as well as SteveH's website for the CSR. Both sites have made our planning a lot easier and thankful that we chose the CSR. Piglet203 and I can't wait to be there in 44 days and getting the most out of the resort and having the best vacation we've ever had!!!

You can't go wrong with either resort. It all depends on what you like. CSR has a Mexican/SW American them to it. IMO, CSR has a great pool, awesome transportation and tremendous food court. Check out my site below for more info.

Good luck deciding!!

23 more days!!!!

We've stayed at both and we prefer CSR. We liked the pool/bar/hot tub better at CSR. We really liked the Pepper Market at CSR. We stayed in the Rancho section, building 7A, (or 7B, can't remember). We walked right out of our room directly onto the cement patio surrounding the quiet pool. We didn't use buses, so I can't tell you about transportation, except that while we were there CSR had a direct bus to and from the Boardwalk after 4 pm, I don't know if they still offer that though.

I think some people overstate the walking times that it takes to move around CSR, from our room in the Rancho section it was like a 5 minute walk to El Centro.

You won't go wrong with either decision and I'm sure you'll find just as many people who prefer CSR as you do who prefer CBR. Just pick one then forget about it.

This is just what I need to make a good decision. Buzz 2001, your site for CSR is wonderful including the great links. I never knew there were so many sites devoted to this topic. I'll be doing more searches because of all this info available.

I'll let everyone know what I decide. And yes, I'm even thinking about the Wilderness Lodge because it's Christmas. I'm in the process of selling rental property and if that goes well I'll opt for the better resort.

I've stayed in both and CSR comes out slightly ahead. Just like the theming better. We stayed in the Cabanas section (9a or 9b)in CSR because it was fairly close to the bus stops, front desk/food court, and the main pool (we our kids loved). When we go back after Thanksgiving 2003, we plan on staying at WL as well - it is beautiful in Christmas. As a matter of fact CSR is nicely decked out in Christmas decorations as well! Could stay a few nights in each resort.

Bete,
Thanks for posting this topic. I was going to post the same one, you just beat me to it.

We have ressies for CSR for 3/03 and I too was debating between the two resorts. After reading all of these opinions, I think I definately made the right decision. THANKS EVERYONE!!!:)

My kids are 8 & 3 so I think the dig site will be a big hit.

HI NEIGHBOR!!! (I'm 30 min north of lafayette!)
I stayed at CBR in December. It was a perfect stay. The only derogatory thing I can say is the hot tub is too small. Other than that it was beautiful. We (four adult women) had a BLAST. Always plenty to do when not at the parks. One day we had our nephew (up for the day from a college in St. Pete) ferry us around in a pontoon boat while we tried out drinks from the pool bar! It was sooo much fun. The bicycles are fun, the pool is fun, it's beautiful to walk around the lake. On Seaspray's recommendation, we asked for Martinique 25 and it was the perfect location.
My little brother (who is 42 and STILL my little bro) and his family were at CSR the same week and didn't really like it. They liked the pool but that was about it.
I say go to CBR!
