caribbean beach, opinions please!

A CM told me that they were the same size as the rooms as WL... ;) we were originally booked at WL but wanted to stay longer so we "downgraded" to the CBR, now it sounds like it was only a lateral move! We are all really excited to go... ONLY A FEW MORE DAYS!! :Pinkbounc

We stayed at the CBR last October and were more than pleased. We were in Trinidad North building 32 near the food court, and the main pool. The grounds were beautiful, the room was comfortable (there is a curtain in the vanity area that allows for privacy). Each village has its own pool. And just so you are aware, the rooms are a bit larger than the other moderates.

I was not crazy about the CBR- my DH absolutely hated it and refused to go back. We are trying the POR this year because we have gotten good reviews on it from people we know. I would still do the CBR over the value resorts (I am a little spoiled). I liked the spicy food but not the layout of the resort - we had to walk over a poop infested bridge to get to the dining hall with many birds overhead- my largest complaint. Going to Disney this summer!!!

AWESOME! This is exactly what I wanted to hear. I assume that since there are double beds (instead of WL's queens), there will be plenty of room to set up my daughter's twin AeroBed. :cool1:

We too were going to stay at the WL, but downgraded to CBR in order to stay longer -- AND to have more $$ to SHOP with!!! :sunny:

I can't wait!

I'm another huge fan of CBR...The resort is so lush and beautiful!

We stayed at Pop in January and the whole trip we were wishing for more time at CBR.

The rooms are a good size, the food court was pretty good, and the grounds were wonderful! We were in Matrinique, building #23 and we were really close to OPR as well as the bus stop, and a quiet pool. It was a wonderful trip, and I can't wait to be back at CBR in November! :Pinkbounc

We stayed at CBR at the end of April. We were in the Trinidad South section which is probably as remote as you can get at this resort. It is tops a 10-15 minute walk from there to the food court. If you do not have a problem trekking from say Soarin' to Test Track the this should not be a problem. This section is very quiet. Also, if you go down to the Beaches you can see the Epcot fireworks at night (what goes above the trees anyway).

We would definitely stay here again.

 My DW and I stayed at CBR in March and loved it. Even though it was before the flowers really get blooming down here, the grounds were still beautiful and well kept, the theme is great, and the rooms were nice. We didn't find any trouble with birds on the island - they were around, but mostly seemed to be in the water or closer to the beaches. We didn't eat anything at the resort (breakfast in the rooms from Publix and lunch and dinner in the parks) but we did walk around and the selection in the grab n' go was very good, and the decor inside Old Port Royale is like being in, well, old port royale...

Though we are likely to try the other resorts on subsequent trips just to see them all, we would definitely stay at CBR again and be very happy to do it! pirate:

We stayed at Caribbean Beach last June. We didn't spend too much time there, but we did like it. The kids, DS 10 and DD 5 LOVED the theme pool. We stayed in Barbados, which was very quiet and a bus stop was very close by. We did have a long walk to the main pool and the food court, but it's a pretty walk along the beach and water. The only complaint I would have (I hate using the word 'complaint' when talking about DW!) is the buses seemed to get crowded at certain times of the day, especially when leaving the parks to go back to the resort. There were a few times there were no seats left and we had to wait 15 minutes for the next bus. When I looked around at the other resort bus stops at the parks, they didn't seem to have the same problem. It is big resort with a lot of people. Other than that, I really loved it there. We're giving Polynesian a try this October...this will be my first Deluxe Resort stay....woo hoo

CBR is my favorite resort that I have stayed at. I love the tropical theming. Last trip I couldn't get a room there and stayed at POFQ, which was fine, but I was wishing I was at CBR. You should consider a preferred room, at either Martinique or Trinidad North - this will place you right near the food court/store building and the main pool. I was in Trinidad North (before it was preferred) and it was great.

It's funny though - everyone has different favorites. My mom's favorite is POR, my daughter and I love CBR, but since I book the trips, we'll be going back to CBR a lot. Have a great trip!

Personally, I think all the moderate resorts, except POFQ, are spread out. That being said, I've stayed at CBR twice and liked it both times. To avoid feeling too far away from the food area, I'd try to avoid Aruba and Trinidad South, although these areas can offer a more isolated feel, if that appeals to you. One more thing: My best experiences with mousekeeping have been at this resort. YMMV.

I have to agree with the mouskeeping at CBR - we came back to our room to 2 washcloth animals every day!

I had four stays at CBR-
two w my entire family for 2 weeks each, one for 1 week w a friend, and one for 2 days with my brother. Each stay we were close to Old Port Royale and had a great experience. Theming is beautiful and mousekeeping was great! One trip, we had a mousekeeper who not only but stuffed animals in the windows, did the towels, etc. but lined up our shoes, fanned our my makeup brushes and generally made the room spotless. Now, I have walked around the resort and I can say that there is a bridge that had some bird poop on it, there is a lot of foliage and can sometimes mean a lot of birds, lizards and spiders at this resort. If you can avoid these paths, you'd be perfect. The rooms are larger than the other moderates, the food court was spectacular and the pools were great. I would go back again.
Aloha! :flower:
