Your best bet is to call the main reservation line and have your and your family's reservations linked in the system. You will need the Disney reservation number for both reservations to do that. Once they are linked, make a request on both reservations to be near each other.

Now since you mention a tour operator I am not sure if you will be able to do the above yourself. I am going to assume using a tour operator is equal to using a travel agent for us here in the U.S. When we use a travel agent, we don't "own" the reservation so we can't call and make requests, that has to come from the travel agent. So you may have to have your tour operator do the above for you.

FYI, there is no way to call the resort directly. Even if you find a published number for a given resort, the call actually goes to a call center. Depending on what number you call, the call center CM will answer like they are at that resort. Even when you call the front desk from your room you are routed to a call center.

Ok I was really having a hard time with the decision to down grade to a regular room due to being afraid I would be put in the farthest villiage possible instead of getting my request. When I really stopped to think about it we really would only need to go to OPR three times. Our first day, our last day, and possibly one day in between. As far as filling the mugs the more I thought about it I really do not like the idea of the kids having that much soda and sugar drinks any way ( they will get enough of that stuff at the parks). So here is the plan: Down grade to a regular room, request a connecting room in building 45 ( I too like the yellow and blue buildings best), order water, milk, juice, tea for garden grocer (I think that is the right place), bring instant oatmeal and ceral bars from home to pack in one of the kids carry ons (will have it empty for what ever souviers they want to bring home) and save money on top it even after buying drinks and breakfast foods. As far as extra drinks in the park I would like to bring individual tea packets and get water from the park. Will they give you tap water at a counter service without buying anything or should we attempt to carry our mugs to fill with tap water?
Other questions I have is 1st does this sound like a do able plan? Second how far in advance do you order from Garden Grocer? How do you tell them where to deliver if you do not get your room assignments until you arrive?
Also how much room is available in the fridges? Will a gallon of milk and a gallon of tea or juice fit in there?

Yes they will.

It sounds like a great plan.

Second how far in advance do you order from Garden Grocer?

On their website there is a calendar that shows available delivery dates. I think the norm is about 2 weeks out.

How do you tell them where to deliver if you do not get your room assignments until you arrive?

They deliver to Bell Services, not your room. Bell Services will bring your order to your room once you call and ask them to. So they don't need to know your room number.

Also how much room is available in the fridges? Will a gallon of milk and a gallon of tea or juice fit in there?

Yes they will fit. I will find some pics of the fridge for reference and post them.

This is from mickeystoontown's trip report, hope you don't mind Lisa.

Once again you guys are Great!!!! What would I do without you guys??? Thanks a million!!!!

ok it is a done deal. I changed our reservation to a standard room and saved $492 on the two rooms. I requested connecting rooms in building 45 so wish us luck. I am actualy looking forward to the walk over the bridge. At this point I would be just fine with any of the buildings in Jamica.
It is hard to believe that just over a month ago I was so upset about the Poly and the construction there. This was our first choice and we had saved accordingly. Well I am here to tell you today that is so yesterday LOL!!! I am more excited then I have ever been. I can not wait to report back to all of you about our vacation!!! Never less I am sure I will still have questions along the way. Love you guys and these boards!!!!

That's great, congrats!!! Fire away with any questions as they pop up. And can't wait to have you report back afterwards.

Not only will CS give you free water, but it is filtered ice water from the soda machine (at least it used to be)

However, waiting in line can be a pain, so I packed my own water.

Yes I thought about having to wait in line but honestly if the family gets thirsty they will want something cold so this information is GREAT!!! It will be nice to know we will not have to carry the mugs. The less to carry the better.

Not to be a nitpicker -- but you mentioned that you will only have to go to OPR the first and last days???? Hopefully I'm not sounding like a jerk here, but OPR isn't where you check in nor check out -- that's in the Custom's House, which is an entirely different building. It is closest to Barbados and Aruba. If that wasn't why you were planning on going to OPR, well feel free to smack me upside my rude head!

We really would not go to OPR in morning except may be once or twice since we will bring breakfast foods to eat in our room. We plan on bringing to-go individual tea packs to add to our mugs with water to have at the parks and could fill them on our return from the parks which we would only have to walk back to Jamica instead of going to and from. We are only planning on eating at OPR on our arrival day for QS and for breakfast on our last day. We have time planned for the pool at OPR on our arrival day and one other evening.

No smacking of the head from me. :wave2: :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: They changed the fact pattern on me DansDad - you are quoting from the previous page -- my quote doesn't have anything in there about eating at OPR -- so I'm sticking to my story -- I never did undertand why the Customs House and OPR were not closer together or in the same building anyhow!

That has happened to me before many times. Just wanted you to know the OP does know what they're doing. :thumbsup2

I have to say that having the Custom House separate from OPR is one of the things I really like about CBR. It keeps the craziness down when you don't have check in/out right next to the food court, arcade and store. Every trip we have only had to go to the Custom House twice, to check in and to catch ME on the way home. Anything else you would need to do at the Custom House can be handled by the Concierge Desk at OPR. Now if they didn't have the Concierge Desk at OPR I would feel differently.

No worries but just to clarrify it is like Dansdad quoted. We are only going to OPR for the pool on our first and last day with a possiblity of a night in between to go to that amazing pool. Thanks for your help Dansdad

Some where in these board a person got a peak at what they thought was a model room for the spring 2014 room refurbishment. I can not remember if the pictures were posted here or if they gave you the search information and that is where I saw the pictures. I have searched most of the night and can not find it. Any one have the link and if so can you post it please?

Hey thank you for the link. I am still hoping these rooms will grow on me. I do like the rooms the way they are now better but I wil be happy with what ever room I get since it will be used for sleeping and cleaning up. I am more excited about the resort grounds and of course the parks.
