I second this. I bought a $10 twin size air matress in the camping section of our local Walmart and took it with us to the CBR. We were able to inflate it with the hair dryer in the room. The mattress fit perfectly between the door and the bed. During the day, we propped it up against the wall.

That wouldn't work if you were getting perks like tickets or meal plans right?
Because they wouldn't be counted in the room?

Many people have had no problems with the pirate beds. There have been a few reviews where people didn't care for them but most haven't had any issues.

I second this. I've read just as many, if not more, positive reviews as I have negative ones. As a matter of fact, we may end up changing our standard room to a pirate room. Just trying to decide if we want to keep the extra money it would cost to change and put it towards water parks or even tickets to......gasp.....a day at Universal Studios.

I stayed in the pirate rooms and didn't have a problem with the beds.
I know they reviews are all over the place. My oldest really wants a pirate room. I know next year we will be staying at POR for the royal rooms. I just need to make a choice before I call next week.

I also just saw we will be there at the same time. Maybe we will pass by each other on the way to the pool! :goodvibes:laughing:

Maybe we will see you there. :)

Thanks I will go for a standard and just as for Jamica. From the map even the furthest building in Jamica looks close.

I just wanted to say that Aruba is just as close to the bridge to Old Port Royal as Jamaica is. We were in the furthest building in Aruba and it was less than 10 minutes to the pool, but only 1-2 minutes to the bus. :)

I was just asking for the cot or air matress so my two kids won't have to sleep in the same bed together. (boy and a girl) We don't have extra people.

I believe this was a direct question to the person that posted about them putting down air mattress. It seemed the question was hinting at putting more people in the room than what was on the reservation list. You might want to pack or send down an air mattress based upon the cost of the roll away.

I hear you we priced on day at universal for the 4 of us. UGh:scared1: We don't have a car so we would need mears transfers and just for tickets and that for 1 day at Universal. My girls are to young for IOA it was 400.00. Plus we have FD so I would have to pay for food so that is another 100.00.

So I guess I have been reading all the wrong reviews about the pirate beds then. I was just concerend my dh broke his neck in a ATV accident a couple of years back. So he has a lot of titanum plates and screws so I just wanted to make sure he is comfortable. The only other isuuse I have one dd that wants a pirate room and the other that wants nemo.:upsidedow

We will have a car so driving to Universal wouldn't a problem. But, one day would be expensive. Like you said, you also have to factor in the fact that we'd have to pay for food that one day too. If we do go to Universal, we'd use that day's TS credit and put it towards a signature restaurant or a dinner show. I just don't know what we are going to do right now.

This would likely be Aruba Building 56. About as far from OPR as you can get but seconds from the bus stop. We actually prefer this building and the walk is always so enjoyable- unless it's pounding rain! Watch that bridge when it's really wet, it can be slippery. No, you don't need to ask me how I know...;)

My husband and I will be staying at CBR Aug 22-29. This will be our first Disney World trip together and we are getting the pirate room. :>

He has been gone a year in S. Korea with the Air Force and so we are finally taking our Disney trip! While we were stationed in Vegas we went to Disneyland. I have been to Disney World soo many times since I am from FL and my parents are fanatics. xD I am excited to stay at CBR it's one of the few my parents didn't stay at with me.

did you bring your own sheets and pillows? or did the resort give you extra?

I just bought mine tonight, we have a DS9 and DD15 who will not share a bed either, and I do not want to share with her (she is a rough sleeper) DH and DS would be good together, but this will work out better. Already told them they can take turns for the 3 days then we move to a 2 bedroom villa and they each get a seperate bed in a seperate room or DS can take the living room and have his own TV.

do they have flat screen tvs or the old style since the nemo upgrade?

We plan on bringing an air-mattress just in case and will be bringing sheets and some blankets.

I'm sure this answer is in this thread somewhere, but 1500 posts is a lot to weed through!

Are all beds in CBR queen sized now? Including the pirate rooms? Isn't that the only mod. with queen beds??

thanks

:wizard: We haven't been to CBR in a few years...do they still have the little "parade" of mousekeeping staff where they play music and give out bead necklaces? That was so much fun when I was having my coffee outside OPR.....

I've seen the castmembers playing music and holding limbo contests in the food court a couple of times.

Afraid not! CSR and POFQ currently have queen size beds and PORS is being rehabbed at this time and will also have queen size beds. CBR will be the only moderate that doesn't have queen size beds.

Just FYI: We have stayed at both POFQ and CSR within the last seven months and their queen size beds are not the same. The ones at CSR have a wonderful pillow topped mattress and are sooo comfortable. The ones at POFQ are alot harder and not near as comfortable. However, we were at CBR in Oct and even though their beds are just full size, they were fairly comfortable (not as comfortable at the queens at CSR, but more comfortable than the queens at POFQ).
