Caribbean Beach FAQ part V

How far out can you do online check in and has everyone had pretty good luck getting requests met? If you request Jamaica 44 or 45 is that too specific?

For our July trip, I requested ground floor, building 45 or 51 when making our reservation. We were put in building 51, ground floor. We get our requests most of the time at any resort we stay at, they do try to accomodate you.

Everyone's getting excited. We leave in 6 days for the world and our 1st stay at CBR. Did online check in this week.

woohoo! Do come back and tell us about it.

We are rope drop and am emh people. What I want to avoid is being located near a bus stop that picks you up and then takes you around the entire resort before departing for the parks. Would like to be by the last stop in the loop (dont care if we're standing). Where is the place I should request?

When we were there in 2006 we were in Barbados and if I recall correctly we were always the last stop before heading to the parks. Sadly tho the downside is that you are the last dropped off in the evening so you get all excited when the bus pulls in to your resort and you hear the pillow calling your name only to have to wait another 10-15 minutes before greeting it.:rotfl:

Going there second week in October.

Usually have stayed at CSR, my concern is the buses but I am getting such mixed feedback. So that is a concern. Just adults traveling waiting usually never bothers us but 40 mins to get to MK! Is that just a rumor or will that be a timeframe I should be prepared for?

We've never stayed @ CBR before and I really hope waiting that long for buses is not the case!

Some buses start in Martinique, go clockwise around the lake, making Barbados the last stop before heading out.

Other buses start in Jamaica, go clockwise around the lake, making Trinidad South the last stop before heading out.

Last time we were there, there seemed to be no set route for a particular park bus. But we did find that the majority of our trips took the route that started in Martinique.

We rarely waited more then 5 minutes for a bus. We did have one morning where we waited extra long for a bus, almost 30 minutes. But that seems to happen about once a trip no matter where we stay. Trips back to the resort were the same, waited about 5-10 minute waits most of the time. Epcot seems to always have the longest waits to get back to the resort (at any resort we stay at), we usually wait the full 20 minutes there. :confused3

Even if you happen to get on at the very first stop, it is only about 8 minutes to make all the other stops. Most of the stops are very close to each other and take about 30 seconds to travel from one to the next.

We have always had excellent bus service at CBR and only hope that we get the same when we stay at a deluxe in a few months! :wizard:

We were in Barbados last year and it was the second stop picking up on most buses, but one of the last dropping off.

This has probably been asked somewhere, if so "sorry", but could someone please tell me what the walk time is from Jamaica Bld 45 or Aruba Bld 51 across the bridge to the main building and pool? This is the deal breaker on whether or not I stick with a value or try the moderate because we are not in our rooms enough to pay the extra for a preferred room in a moderate, and love how close the main building is in a value.

We are going in the fall and are looking for suggestions as to which building/section to request. We are planning for a standard room. We don't want to be too far away from the main activities, but am not sure if the extra money for a preferred room is worth it. Any thoughts?

We were in Jamaica 41 which is the furthest building in Jamaica and it took us maybe 5 minutes to get to Old Port Royale. It was a nice easy walk.

We have been in Jamaica 41 twice and in Martinique 23, all of which are non-preferred buildings. Our walk to Old Port Royale was probably about 5 minutes. Personally, I don't mind the walk so I don't pay for a preferred location. Well, I did once but that's because that was the only room available during our time period.

Which building should I request if I want to be in a quieter section? Dont care how far it is from anything because we have our own car but would like it to have its own pool....

Another stupid question (sorry for them but it has been 7 years since we stayed at CBR)...are all the rooms redone? Are they all Nemo or Pirate? And they have flat screen tv's and fridges right?

Ok CBR experts ... if our flight arrives in Orlando at 1pm and we are using ME, how early could we be at EPCOT?

We've not yet stayed at CBR, but in the past we've allowed about 3 hours MCO to park and that is usually just about right. Somewhere along the line you will just miss the bus as it pulls out, or end up in line behind someone very slow or something... Combine that w/the travel time, and taking a few minutes to drop your carry on bags in the room & maybe change shoes or grab a bottle of water or something & there you go... 4p and you're at Epcot.

I'm sure others could do it quicker, but DH & I kick into slow mode as soon as vaca begins.

We rented a car so our timing would be different. There were TONS of ME buses when we were there 2 weeks ago. Made me wonder why we didn't just do that but we like having a car.

Our plane landed at 9:40am. We got our luggage, our rental car, checked in and our room was ready. We put our stuff in our room, spent about 10 minutes there and we were in the Magic Kingdom by noon. Epcot is closer, so depending on how quickly you get on a ME bus, and whether or not your room is ready, you could be there in 2 1/2 -3 hours.

Yup they are nemo or pirate and have fridges!

We enjoyed being in Jamaica 41. It was one of the furthest buildings in the village but it was super quiet. And, it's close to the parking lot so you won't have to walk far to get to your car.

All of the rooms have been redone and have either a Nemo theme or a pirate theme (which you have to pay extra for). I do believe that they all have the new flat screen t.v. and, yes, they do have fridges in the rooms.

Thanks!! Yes I finally scored the discount and was able to get exactly what Todd wanted...he loves CBR and it has been so long since we have been there...cannot wait!

This is great news! I really love Nemo, cannot wait to get there! Flat screen tv's are awesome, so glad they have them and a fridge is a must!

I think I will request Jamaica 41, I like the idea of quiet, love that my car is super close. Do they have a pool too? I think they....I bet it is never used, I hope it isnt anyways :lmao:

There's a quiet pool in Jamaica. The walk from Bldg. 41 to the quiet pool may have been a minute. Very short walk. It was never really busy when we were there this past May/June (last week of May and first week of June). I think the busiest time there were about a dozen people in the pool.

We stayed in Jamaica 41 last time and enjoyed how peaceful it was as well. And yet, it was still close to the pool and the bus stop.

At this time on Wednesday, we'll be there again! :cool1:

I'm having a hard time deciding between CBR and CSR. Okay if I book the pirate room, is it a long walk to the pirate water area?

I really like the room, just a little concern about the distance, I won't have a car. This trip just dh and our two boys, 8 and 4.

Please help :worship:

We walked from Trinidad South to OPR in 7 minutes at a leisurely pace. No big deal!

We have stayed at both and would definitely recommend CBR over CSR any day! :thumbsup2
