for anyone that's been to CBR recently- what kind of coffee pots do they have? I was considering bringing my own coffee but I heard some of the resorts are switching to pod type coffee pots and wasn't sure if CBR had switched.

Thanks!

Wow it's hard to believe that a room at Disney would be like that :confused3

You can believe it.. or not.. But that was our experience.. Disney is not perfect.. We all know that. Most of my stay on Disney property were excellent. Only those two times weren't and it just happened to be at CBR both times. I'm way over it.. I just had to respond to that one poster to let her know that I had that experience. But other than that, there is no reason for me to carry on what had happened in the past. :) I found my favorite resort and I am happy with that.

Is it true with online check in now that you can "request" certain villages or buildings? This wasn't the case last year when we went.

I've had the CBR ticker in my sig for a while now but as of yesterday, the plan has been made official!

Saw a good deal on airfare early in the AM and grabbed it! Sure as anything it was right back up before noon!:cool1:

So, DW and I are officially heading back to Caribbean Beach in November for the end of Food and Wine, the Festival of the Masters, and maybe, just maybe, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party!:)

Suppose I'd better book the resort now...

There is currently a bounceback offer that goes till end of 2012. I booked while I was just there. Of course every hotel I asked about only had the most expensive rooms available.

Do you know if they had CBR available? We are heading there in 2 weeks time and want to "bounceback" in August again??

How could you lie? The floor was probally just a little damp, and the roaches? Just small bugs. Geez, btw i'm just kidding with you, i believe you 100%. Now the question is what building did this happen in? 2 years ago august, we stayed in building #33, our room was 100% perfect. My mom was 3 doors down and had the same exact problem, 2 large looking killer bugs. One in the bathroom and one running on the bed as she layed in it, she was terrfied! Also the rug between the wall and bed smelt funny and when inspected closer it was soaked. They offered to move her anywhere, but she wanted to be close to me and the grandbabies, so she got a different room on the second floor, just upstairs from us.

This was over 5 yrs ago. The first stay was Jamaica 2nd floor. The 2nd time was Martinique first floor where the floor was wet. The main reason why I never went back was the resort never grew on me. I like the Caribbean island look, but later learned it's the New Orleans theme is what I'm looking for.. and I fell in love with POFQ.

While we were at CBR last January we found a cockroach in our bath tub. I guess it came up the drain. Having a science degree wasn't necessary to identify it as an American Cockroach (Periplaneta americana). We removed it to the outdoors and had no further sightings for the rest of the stay. No biggie, just a bug that found someplace warmer than the frigid outside temperatures were providing.:)

What are the pros to staying in a preferred location at CBR? This will be our 4th stay at this resort and I've never gotten a preferred room. Are the rooms closest to the water preferred? I thought it might be nice to look out the window at the lake. Although I do love the walk across the bridge every day/night. Its so tropical. What about the cost difference?

Anyone know the locations of the rooms with the king beds, or are they just kind of spread out? I'm booking two rooms in Sept and they're both going to be king bed rooms and I was just curious if they were all in one certain location. Thanks in advance! :beach:

We've had king rooms a few times. They seem to be spread throughout the resort. We had a different building each time. Now, if you want these 2 king rooms to be connected or beside each other I don't think you'll have much luck. But that's my impression, perhaps someone will come along who knows for sure.:)

Don't really have to be connected, just half way across the resort wouldn't be ideal! Same building would be nice, I'll request that I guess when I make the reservation.

i was wondering if any one has a picture of the pack and plays or can tell me how they fit in the rooms with out use tripling over it the whole time there will be 5 of use in the room. this is our first time so i just want to have an idea of how everything will be. i also have another question i read on here somewhere that they have bed rails i was wondering if u need to call ahead of time or just ask when we get there ( my 3 year old can not stay on a bed for anything). thank you so much for answering my questions :)

IDK if you got an answer to the already. I don't have a picture of the pack and plays but its the regular size of a graco one. I don't know if your 3 year old would be comfortable sleeping there... we used it for my DS last year when he was 2 and he barely fit in. As far as room placement I guess it would depend on your room. Last year we stand at Coronado Springs and the P&P fit nicely in front of the door to the adjoining room. It actually was not in the way at all. If you plan on using it I recommend bring a pad for it, they do give you a sheet but there isn't a lot of padding.

Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone can give me info on special things that the CBR does that might not be listed anywhere. I know I have read somewhere that they have a campfire on the beach. If this is true, where can I find out more info about this? Also, does CBR show movies poolside like some of the other resorts do? Are there any other kids acitivites that we can get any info on, ex:crafts, pool parties, etc?

We are leaving in 12 days for a bday weekend full of surprises for my little prince that is turning 5.:bday: Thanks in advance for all the info.:thanks:

I can confirm that YES, there are nightly movies by the pool and a little campfire on the beach. Happy Birthday to your little prince! :goodvibes The movie schedule for April is,
Sunday - The Emperor's New Groove
Monday - A Bug's Life
Tuesday - Cars
Wednesday - Hercules
Thursday - The Incredibles
Friday - Monsters, Inc.
Saturday - Finding Nemo
Do a search on google about specific info on activities at the hotel. I know the main pool has afternoon games. Have a great trip!

Hi everyone.

We leave in 58 days (but who's counting). This will be me and DH second stay at CBR. We will be bringing my Mom, brother and his family (first time in WDW for them). We booked preferred rooms, ours with a king. I hope we are all at least in the same building. I dont remember from last time but when you do online check-in can you request a first floor room? My Mom needs one since the steps will be killer (we are renting her a wheelchair).
Also I have the address provided by safetymom
900 Cayman Way
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
My brother wants to ship water, some luggage and other essentials down before we leave. Has anyone had any experiences with this?
We are going to use Magical Express this time.
Do they shuttle you to your room?

Sorry about all the questions since I only have 58 days left, but who's counting:banana:

i just did o/l check in - one of the options to check was ground floor.

ME must drop us off at the front desk to check in and then we probably have to walk or take one of the CBR shuttles to our building I would imagine.... I'll find out tomorrow! :cool1:

I'd suggest that you call Disney Travel (or whoever you booked your package through) and have them "link" your reservations. When you call, you'll need all of the reservations numbers and the name of the reservation holder. They will "link" the vacations so that there will be a better chance of the rooms being near each other. We've done that twice and both times our rooms were right next to each other.

I have never shipped items to the resort but I'm told that it's easy to do and that your packages will be left with Bell Services. You can either pick them up yourself from Bell Services or have them bring it to your room.

Once you arrive at the resort via Magical Express, you will be dropped off at the Custom House where you'll check in. You can ask that Bell Services take you and your luggage to your room via a resort van.

That would be great, are the movies shown at the beach by the pool ? I know I seen several different beaches when looking at the photos.
