Thinking of booking a last minute long weekend to Caribbean Beach, as the standard rooms are discounted to value prices. I know there is skyliner construction going on and read some reviews saying to avoid Aruba and Jamaica because of it.

Has anyone stayed recently, and if so, could you please recommend the best room location/buildings to be close to the main pool, bus stops, etc? I read an old recommendation to request Martinique, but I think that section is now all “Preferred” and that half of it was torn down?

Thanks for any info!

We were in Aruba 54 and loved it. We weren't close to the main area, but we only walked there a couple times. I would say around an 8 minute walk as a guess, didn't time it. We were close to the Aruba bus stop (they stop at Jamaica then there in the morning so no worries about being full), the pool was close, and there was a coke freestyle machine in the next building over to fill up our mugs.

If you plan on eating at CBR regularly or using the pool a lot, it may be worth it to pay for the preferred. But if you are going to eat at the parks and don't mind swimming in the other pools, I wouldn't worry about it.

I am looking at Aruba 53 or 54 as well. I am prioritizing distance to transportation over distance to Centertown since I think that will be more important. Also, the gondolas aren't directly overhead in those buildings.

The Skyliner station is behind Jamaica 41, which would I feel be the only building that could potentially be affected by construction work noise, but I don't know how much really.

If you are near the end of Aruba (56) then you will see and potentially hear construction from the Riviera Resort.

The standard recommendation is Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51... close to the bridge to OPR, and not a long walk to the bus stop. If bus is much more important, Jamaica 44. If you tend to visit the food court for breakfast before the parks, then you can simply go to the OPR bus stop in the morning after you're done.
