My parents and my boyfriend and I are all heading to disney for the free dining plan (early sept, about 2 1/2 weeks!!). I made most dining reservations about two months ago, some even more. We asked my sister a bunch of times if there was any way she could make it, since she had a conference the week right after she said no. Today (TODAY!!!) she emails me asking if i can add her to the reservations!!!

I'm going to try but I just don't know if i can get them. One is ohana and I know that place gets packed up so I don't know. The other is rose and crown so I might be able to add her to that, but still not sure since everone is scrounging for res. since it's only weeks away! oh man.

Has anyone been successful in heading to the podium and asking if we can add one when we're there? Like I said, I'll call, but I seriously don't know.

Hope you got a good laugh out of that. I had been calling daily to get certain reservations about two months ago. I just don't know what to tell her! She'll probably just think I'm being mean if I say I couldn't get them.

Any advice would be wonderful (specially about adding a person at the podium if anyone has done so.. but I know we're going at a super crazy time restaurant wise... so who knows). Well I'm off to call disney dining, wish me luck!

Just my .02, but I bet you'll have a hard time adding sis to your adr's b/c you'll be going from 4 to 5, meaning an upgrade to a larger table. If it were me I would try to get sis added to the adr on the phone and at the podium. The worst that happens is that she can eat at the nearest c/s or foodcourt and meet up with you guys after the fact. At least you could spend most of your vaca together even if you didn't eat together.

don't forget as well that with all of the Teppanyaki cancellations (it was supposed to reopen 8/21 and has now been delayed until who knows when) all of those people had to be squuezed into whatever other restaurants they wanted - I can tell you from expierence that they said where do you want to eat and I will do my best to get it for you and they pretty much did for what I asked for.) This is going to make it all the more difficult for you to get a bigger table. Maybe they could pull up another chair to your table for 4? or at the end of a booth? who knows. basically it never hurts to ask, but if she doesn't believe you - give her the number and tell her that she is welcome to call and see if she has any luck making it happen.

yes that will be the plan if I can't actually make new res. on the phone. I don't think i'll be cancelling any adrs because they are IMPOSSIBLE TO GET!! (atleast 2 1/2 weeks out during free dining!). None the less I am very excited my sister is coming, I wanted her to come and I had tried so hard to figure out a way to make it work before we made the adrs. but she said it was impossible Don't know what changed but I'm sure we'll work something out and have lots and lots of funnnn!

As others have said, upgrading from 4 to 5 will be tough. Just remind the person taking your requests that it IS the "Year of a Million Dreams".

I 100% agree with the posters that said you are going from 4 to 5. If it was 3 to 4, it wouldn't be a problem because you'd be at the same size table. Now you will have to go up to a table for six and those are available but not that easy to get.

Do what you can but I would tell the sister that she should be prepared to be doing counter service while you are enjoying your table service. Or, order her a "to-go" dinner and she can enjoy late back in the room. She, of course, would have to carry the meal around for the rest of the evening.

And kudos to you for chuckling over this. I'd be slightly less than livid.
