Card on File, final payment question?

I booked over the phone paid the 10% deposit and my card was placed on file for the final payment to be taken automatically today 7th of November.

I checked my account this morning and nothing has gone yet (pending or cleared balance) but to be honest i didn't really expect it to go today being a Sunday.

What are peoples experiences of this? how long has it taken for them to take the money and if it doesn't go how long should i leave it before phoning them?
 
I'd say you might as well call them straight away. Mine never went out when it was supposed to and I had to chase them. I wound up with it held in 2 bank accounts too as one bank blocked it due to it being a large amount to an overseas company (albeit Disney!)

My advice would be to notify your bank first, check that they haven't blocked it already (although it would seem not as otherwise it wouldn't be available in your account) or that it isn't currently being processed and if not then advise them of the payment details so it doesn't get blocked and only then phone disney to make the payment!

Hope that makes sense! mine was such a pain in the backside! I had £400 blocked in my account (on top of the payments I made with another card!) for nearly two weeks as I had to wait for it to become available again! Watch out too as even when Disney take payment the money can take ages to go out of your account, mine even unblocked before it was taken (authorisations usually stand for about a week) and it was lucky I noticed that I didn't really have it available as the Disney payment still hadn't gone 10 days later! It went eventually but I think my holiday finally got paid a month after the due date!!! Definitely call your bank first!! :)

Totally back up what Robear84 says...same happened to me with £700 first blocked by my bank (and had whle account suspended!!!) then the money was 'unavailable' to me and had to phone bank about 3 times to get it sorted!
 
Well Monday morning when i checked my bank account the remaining holiday balance had disappeared off my available bank balance which i presume means Disney have done something and my bank haven't blocked the payment which is good.
It is still the same today, it's come off my available but not off my actual balance (does that make sense :rotfl2:)
Guess i will just have to wait now, i hope to god i don't have problems

Hiya, expect it to stay that way for up to a week, then the money will go BACK INTO your account for around 3 days then it will go altogether and show up on your transaction lists, its done it EVERY time we've paid for our holidays, it scared us at first but we know its comming now. :goodvibes

Thanks for that, i seem to remember when i booked online in full it did something like that but i wasn't sure if when you have a card on file it was different.

Can i ask when you got your final confirmation, the one that shows the balance at zero. Will it be when it shows up on my transaction list (which could be about a week by the sounds of it) or should i have already received it bearing in mind the balance disappeared off my available bank balance on Monday.?:confused3

think ours took about 4 working days after it cleared to come :goodvibes

I wonder how long it will take them now to take it completely and for it to come off my actual balance and show on my transaction list.
 
I think I'm gonna open a separate 'Just for Disney' bank account so they can't mess with my personal finances!!!!

I know, it's a good job i check my account each day (and that i am a member on the DIS :goodvibes )
Otherwise i wouldn't have had a clue why the money had gone back onto my available balance.

It was almost a week with mine!! I was beginning to wonder if it was going to have gone out before we went or not!!:lmao:

I thought i had better ring my bank to double check that it had been authorised ok.
She didn't have a clue what i was going on about, not surprsing really when you are trying to explain that the money was taken from your available balance and then went back in again :rotfl: She must have thought i was a right fruit loop.

First she said she couldn't see anything at all, then she said they had authorised it. To be honest i think she was completely confused (she's not the only one)

Anyway she did say that if a payment was not authorised they would contact me or leave a message (which they haven't) so although she can't see anything i know the money disappeared on Monday which means Disney did something.

God, booking with a travel agent is sooooooo much easier.
 
It's been paid.:cool1:

It got todays date but the actual transaction is for the 7th so it took them 8 days to take payment.
