When I stay at Pop Century I will have a rental car with me so the big question is will it be better for me to take the buses or use the car to get around Disney.

I have never stopped inside Disney before so I'm not really sure what to expect. I don't really want to have to use the car but if it means avoiding long queues and standing up on busses then it would be worth it.

I have reservations for Pop Century at the end of March...I plan on taking the bus because by the time you drive to the MK then ride the tram to TTC then the Monorail around to MK (You could have already been there) If you stayed until Park Closing then you would still have to wait in line for either Monorail or Ferry just to get back to TTC to catch the tram to your car, then you would have all the traffic to drive through. (SO I would rather stand-up on the bus and be back at the Resort)

You will be close to both EPCOT & MGM so those should be quick bus trips.

If I was going to drive I would do so on EMH at the AK because you would be able to get a good parking space right up front at the Park and just walk to the gate plus arrive on time.

I would also drive if I was going to DTD area.

Like Magic said, I would bus to MK. Other than that park, I don't know how much it matter. We will be there with a 3yo and a stroller, so we might be driving to the other parks more than I othewise would.

We've leaving in just a few hours (YEAH!!), and we're using the bus. Those trams in the parking lots drive me crazy!! I'd rather use the bus just to avoid those.

I didn't realise that the bus went straight to MK from the resort. I'd just assumed it went to the TTC. Is this correct?

Yep, takes you straight to the gate, no monorail or ferry ride.

We were there just last week and the bus service is excellent! No other pick-ups other than POP, and it takes you directly to the park entrances. We rarely had to wait more than a few minutes for a bus either to or from POP!!

Do yourself a favour and take the bus!!:D

I'd personally recommend taking the bus. Pop Century buses run fairly well from what I've seen, and make no other stops. No hassles with parking, walking, trams, losing a good space, etc.

We were there MLK weekend, and the buses ran great. We never waited more than 5 minutes in the evenings (most times at park close, there were multiple buses lined up waiting to fill). Mornings no more than a 10 minute wait. Leave the driving to them!!!

Have a great trip!

I am a huge fan of driving my own car to AK and MGM - but when going to MK its all buses for me (or boat since we normally stay at FtW). I am very impressed with the fact that, until the other years open - you will not share any of the buses at PoP with any other resort.

Would you still take the bus to MK if you had a person with a hanicap plate? I will be there 9-14-9-19-04. Staying at POP 3 out of 6 of us will be needed a wheelchair when we get to the parks.

We recently traveled with a group totalling 9, including 4 people under the age of 5. Driving by car came in handy one day, when one potty-training little boy had an "accident". His dad was able to go right out to the car (this was at Studios), drive back to ASMov, change him, then come back. No waiting for the next bus, etc etc.

In all, I'd concur with another post in saying that the bus is nice to MK because you avoid the whole TTC - - the bus drops you right there. Otherwise, if you're staying on property and you have the car ANYWAYS, I'd drive. You don't save any time, but it might be easier to leave at closing and if you suddently decide to park hop, you can go from one parking lot right to the other without having to transfer at a resort or TTC.

We always took the busses, but with the cost of Mears these days, it's cheaper to have a car for a family of 4. Now, I wouldn't go back other than for the MK bus.

Yes, I would still recommend the bus for MK. The bus lets you off right near the turnstiles. If you drive, you need to take the boat or monorail over from the TTC to the park. The handicapped parking at MK does NOT have tram service and is quite a hike to get to the TTC. Once you get there, the walk to the ferry boat is a ways and if you choose to use the monorail, you will be walking up a long, steep ramp (the monorail station is about 20 feet up in the air). There are some wheelchairs at the handicapped parking that can be borrowed to get to the park entrance, but I would not count on them having 3 wheelchairs waiting there.
If you choose to drive to MK, I'd suggest you don't park in the handicapped parking area. Tell the first CM you come to (and all the rest after) that you have people with mobility problems and need to park close to the tram. They do save parking spots for that situation; the regular parking lot and riding the tram will end up being a lot less walking than if you park in the handicapped lot. I'd suggest you do the same if you drive to Epcot, since the handicapped parking there is also pretty far from the entrance and there are no trams for the handicapped parking lot. AK and the Studio have handicapped parking located very close to where the bus would let you off.

How bout if you're staying at AS Sports? Where would you bus, where would you drive?
