please help me.....I have always used Budget and recieved great prices for cars but now I need a van and the prices are high....very high! I tried using some of the codes you all use but with no results. I get code not valid or coupon expired. Please help????? TIA

If you aren't loyal to Budget, try using Dollar. We've used them in the past and they were great. We had booked a minivan through them for $689 for 19 days. I think DH used the KISS codes mentioned on mousesavers and also an American express dicount.
We found a better deal though Alamo for a SUV for $510 so we switched our resies. I'd rather it be a tight fit and save my $179.

More info please - what are your dates and requirements? What is the best price you have found? Do you need add-ons, how many passengers etc.?

I just got a minivan rental from dollar from 12/15-12/22 for a grand total of $284.80.:thumbsup2

Jan 24-28....I need 7 seatbelts, not worried about luggage space and I need no add-ons. Budget wants $401.00 (set price). Hertz wants $303.64 and Dollar wants $229.50 but both told me it is an estimated price. I have been told I could get charged anywhere from $50.00 and up/more with them when I pick up the van. This has me very confused. Alamo told me on the phone they have no vans available for the days I want but online they do have vans???

Thrifty is showing a base rate of 203.84 and after taxes and fees it would be $249.21. We have always been very happy with our experiences with Thrifty.

Alamo has a 7 seater minivan for $204.42 or an 8 seater for $225.28 inc. taxes and fees. Use Walmart code 430710 and coupon code AD3829MRB. This also includes an additional driver.

Alamo is on site and also provides a Kiosk for check in so you can avoid the lines.

If a car is available online I would not be concerned about the call center. If limited or no vehicles were available the prices would be much higher. If you are concerned you can call the location directly.

Another tip - if you can add an extra day you can save even more with a weekly rate.

Actually use coupon AD6459BG - It's for $30 off a standard suv, luxury, or minivan..I just got it in an email today.

I just made a ressie with Alamo for $205.83. I 'm still a little confused about it saying estimated total. I'm going to call Budget and let them know the prices I'm getting with other companies and see if they will do anything since I was a happy, loyal customer of theirs. Thanks to all for your help!!

I just discovered simplywheelz.com by Hertz. It is off-airport, so you need to take a shuttle, but it is Hertz's new spin-off into the budget vacation traveler market. My prices for a mini-van for June were substantially cheaper with them than any other agency. You can google it and read the recent articles on it. They only have one location right now, Orlando.

I believe they say estimated because taxes, fees and surcharges can change between reservation and rental. For example, the city of Orlando increases sales tax; the rental company would have to charge you the increased amount. I don't think this happens often and if it does I imagine the change would be minor.
