WE WILL BE AT WDW NEXT MONTH:banana:

WE ARE DRIVING AND STAYING AT ALL STAR SPORTS...

IS IT BETTER TO DRIVE TO THE PARKS OR TAKE THE BUSSES?
* WE WILL HAVE 3 KIDS,, 11, 4 AND 1 SO WE WILL HAVE 2 STROLLERS,, NOT PAYING $$ TO RENT STROLLERS.

I KNOW WHEN WE WERE THERE BACK IN FEB THE 2 SMALLER ONES WERE ASLEEP EVERY NIGHT BEFORE LEAVING THE PARKS...

drive for sure.
since you already have the car why wait in lines for buses.

and since your staying on property you won't have to pay for parking either

We always rent a car. It's an added expense but a real time saver in getting to the parks. The Disney bus system is efficient but sometimes slow.

With your own car you wont have to wait for the buses.. you can get right to your car and leave to get to the resort.

with the bus-- you will have to wait to board (with three young kids --yeow)
then hope to get a seat--all the while fighting to hold two strollers.

Staying on property your parking will still be free-- take your car.

or try it with the bus one day and if it dont work out use the car.

I would say other than MK drive. For MK since parking is at TTC you have to take either monorail or ferry as well as tram.

I would take the car. That way you know you will always have a seat. I just can't think of what it would be like to have 2 little ones and not being able to get a seat on the bus. Standing holding a child and trying to hold onto the stroller too. By taking your car if the 1 yr old is asleep you can just transfer to car seat without waking them (hopefully). I just think everyone will be more comfortable.

We always rent a car and mix it up between bus and car depending on how we feel. That said, with two strollers, I would drive every time.

Last year we had my parents who both used wheelchairs and we only used the busses once and thankfully we were the only ones on it. It takes FOREVER for them to load to chairs and takes up a lot of room. The CM's were great, but I could see how other riders would get PO'd.

I have been on the fence w/ this for a while!

I think i will drive to parks and after thinking some more will prob drive to mk also... I know we have to board the ferry or monarail but at least the boys can stay asleep in their strollers..

I also just fractured my wrist so that will still be in a brace,,,, i refused cast...

I know the kids wanted to ride the bus some so maybe we will do that with our adr at different resorts.

Thanks all!

The buses don't go from one resort to another. You would have to take a bus to a theme park and then transfer. I would suggest if you plan on watching Wishes one night at MK. Drive over in the morning and for the afternoon break take the bus back to Sports and return back to MK by bus. Early afternoon you will not have a problem get a seat. Good luck and enjoy your trip.

I would say other than MK drive. For MK since parking is at TTC you have to take either monorail or ferry as well as tram.

This is us since our last trip. We drove everywhere except MK, for the reasons you mention.

We used to do 100% bus, then drove for the first time. I must say, I think WDW transportation is great, but once you have the convenience of a car, you ain't never goin' back to the bus! :lmao:

Take the car to all the parks but MK. It would be a pain to load and unload strollers and kids for the tram and monorail/boat.

I suppose I'd have to say drive. The good thing about driving is, if you're in the park late at night and you're tired and your kids are getting cranky :) you don't have to wait in a long bus line. I say always, always drive to Downtown Disney. Have a great trip!

We rarely use the busses. Staying at POFQ and having to share busses with Riverside does not make for efficient time use. So driving it is. We would have missed many a ADR if not for being about to jump in the car and go.

Car, car, car! You will not believe how much quicker and how much more convenient it is to drive yourself to and from your destinations. It saved us so much time on our last trip, I don't think we'll ever do the buses again.

We have always found it to be easy to drive to the parks except MK. There, the bus is great because it drops you off nearly at the entrance as opposed to parking way out in Egypt tramming it to the ttc then loading the boat or monorail which then takes you to the gate. Whew!

Looks like I am going to be going against the flow, but we prefer the buses. We used our car for the last trip and didn't really see any difference time wise because of taking the tram from the parking lot to the entrance or walking from our car to the entrance. Plus I thought trying to get our stroller on the tram was much more difficult than the bus. But the main reason would be for my DH - he loves being in total vacation mode at WDW and that includes not driving.
Try both and determine which is better for your family's needs.
Oh yeah, our kids really missed the buses. It's one of their favorite rides at WDW:rotfl2:

My wife and I actually really like the buses for the whole 'vacation' feel. But, it’s only us, though so that probably makes a huge difference. If we had kids, I’m not sure I’d be able to deal with the additional stress of boarding a packed bus with little ones in tow. So, for a family with young ones, I’d say drive… especially if you think you’ll be there late, or you plan to leave early (the busiest times for the bus lines).

Then again, it is pretty nice not having to worry about driving at all.

I'm a "car" girl myself - I hate those long waits for crowded buses at the end of the day!

We drive everywhere.

We did use Disney transportation for MK because of the TTC issue.

Now we drive there too.

We found at park closing going to the TTC is a small price to pay opposed to waiting in a long bus line, only to finally get on the bus and have to stand for 20 min balancing a stoller and sleeping toddler. I always get to sit down in my car, and the only stench I have to smell is my own.

I drive all day for work--why would I want to drive on Vacation to?
That's what my DH Says and I'm all for it. I like getting into an already
airconditioned bus not a Hot car. Plus you don't have to fight the traffic
going out of the parking lot. We've never had any problems taking the
bus and I see plenty of Parents with little ones on it.
