Car transportation to parks during Early Entry

It's been a few years since our last visit. What is the process like for early entry via car? Is there an advantage to taking ride share vs driving ourselves? How long before EE should we plan on getting to the vehicle entrances for each park? Looking for the best strategy with these two options. (We'll not be using DW transportation.)

Parking lots open an hour before EE. I've not had a problem with getting in and getting towards the front. Only advantage for ride share is that you generally don't have to walk as far from the parking spot to the gate.

I read in another thread that at HS, ride share enters where the busses go now? Do you know if that's accurate, and if that's the case at any of the other parks (besides MK obviously)?
