Hey everyone we leave for Disneyworld in 3 weeks and I think that we have decided to drive straight thru from the Chicago suburbs. I am looking to put together a snack and munchie list for me, DH and two boys(13,7). We have no allergies but was just looking to see what your favorite things are to have in the car. Maybe we can find something we haven't thought of before:)

TIA!!!

I like to pack Pringles, because the bag doesn't crinkle so annoyingly, and the crumb factor is lower. We also pack whatever fruit is in season-we just got back from a 4th of July trip and had cherries. I don't mind putting up with pits or cores, I'd rather my family not have so much junk food.

We also like taking crackers and cheese. I cut up cheese into squares to eat alone, or slices to eat with the crackers.

Another snack I like it to take a tortilla, spread some cream cheese and some fresh, cut-up basil on it. Then either add ham or not. Roll it up and slice it into spirals.

My daughter likes to take slices of salami and spread them with cream cheese too. Either roll them up, or keep building layers of salami, cream cheese, more salami, etc. Top with salami and slice into wedges.

Peanuts are good too! Of course, get the shelled ones. ;)

i bring hummus and pita or pretzels. :)

trail mix and nuts are also good options. not a health food nut or anything but i feel less guilty about eating some junk food if i mix in some not so bad foods too..

my dad also does a lot of dried fruits and yogurt covered fruits/pretzels/etc.

Cool Ranch Doritios, Funyuns, Hot Tamale candies, Slim Jims, water to drink.
No it's not healthy but it's vacation food.

My wife is big on pack snacks and we are driving down again from Philly area.

For the most part we don't need snacks, but we pack some juice boxes and a box of fruit snacks. we drive down starting around 7-8pm on friday night to get there by saturday afternoon. Kids sleep in car during that evening. They woke up last year in GA and we stopped and ate breakfast there. They were not hungry for a snack again till around 10-11am and a few hours later we were at disney eating lunch.

For those thinking we are crazy for driving overnight and that we would be to exhausted to enjoy ourselves for the next week. It's not that bad. We swap driving so one is sleeping while the other is driving. We also only pretty much hang by the pool and relax when we get there.

My kids were 7 and 5 last year, obviously 8 and 6 this year, both boys. We make sure we have the DSes packed so they are happy gamers as well.

Grapes
Raisins
Granola Bars
Krispie Treats
100-Calorie bags of snacks
Peanut Butter/Cheese crackers
Single-serve Cereal Cups
Bottled Water

Also, before leaving in the morning, I always toast a bunch of bagels and heat up some pork roll for breakfast sandwiches. Wrap 'em in foil and they stay warm; we stop for coffee at the local WaWa and hit the road!

We drive from WNY. Usually stop overnight in SC.
Here is our list:
grapes
animal crackers
teddy grahams
fruit snacks
gum

Chocolate is my fave, but does not always travel well. But if you can keep it cold, it is generally okay, although cold Reese's Pieces and/or M&M's don't thrill me too much. ;) But I would eat them anyway! :lmao:

String cheese

Gummy Bears

Yogurt, if you can keep it cold and are a non-klutz. ;)

Combos (those pretzels with cheese, etc. inside)

Goldfish crackers - lots of different flavors for variety

Peanuts - unshelled

and keeping in mind that all these wonderful, salty snacks can make one really thirsty, plenty of juice, water, milk, whatever.
