Car Sick ?

I used to live up north, and had to fly down to Winnipeg about twice a month for medical appointments. I would dread the trip because I get horrible motion sickness. I tried Gravol but was alseep within 5 or 10 minutes no matter how hard I tried to stay awake. I found out about Bonomine on these wonderful boards and my life has changed forever! LOL :cool1: I find that if I'm just riding (on a plane or in a car), I have an hour or so of feeling a bit drowsy, but if I'm doing some work, or driving, I don't notice a thing. Bonomine lasts for 24 hours, so you aren't always having to take another one every four hours. The trick is to take it at least an hour before you are going to leave.

I have just got a perscription from my doctor for a drug called Betahistine dihydrochloride. He said that this does not cause any of the side effects that gravol or bonamine have. I can get drowsy if I take Tylenol Cold - non-drowsy or even if I have too many Halls. He also told me that I could use it for my kids in lower dosages of course. I have a feeling that if this works I will keep some around forever. The only negative thing is that I cannot drink when on it however I wouldn't be able to drink if I was throwing up anyway! :goodvibes
