Car Service?

I'm not sure how that's relevant to the suggestion to look elsewhere for reviews. Not all of us live and die by the decisions of this site.

I'm agreeing, there are over 100 companies approved to pick up at MCO. Only a handful get mentioned on internet boards. I'm sure many of them give excellent service. People who aren't happy with the half dozen of companies that get good reviews on DIS should look at other companies. You don't have to live and die by the decisions of this site but you should respect the rules and not try to work around the ban by trying to come up with alternate ways to promote the company.

I'm suggesting people look at the many companies that don't get mentioned, you seem to be suggesting poster go searching for information on the couple of companies banned on DIS for egregious conduct.

No, of course no one lives or dies by the decisions of this site. But....if someone comes to this site and looks for info, we try to give the best info we can give, within the parameters of the board guidelines. No one is saying that a company that has been banned from the DIS has given bad service....they have just ignored posting guidelines here..that's it.

I have to agree with Lewisc...there are a ton of companies that are licensed to operate out of both Sanford and MCO. We don't hear about the majority of them here on the DIS. There are some that crop up more often than others. I know that back in '01, I booked Tiffany Towncar based on recommendations I got from an AOL Disney info site..and TT was wonderful. Now, I've used TT, Fl Tours as well as several other companies. I have gotten varied service from all the companies I've used...sometimes good, sometimes just okay. But, that's life.

There are many, many good companies out there. If you can't find what you're looking for here, try other sites. While I love the DIS, you can find info on other unofficial sites. This is always my first stop but it isn't my 'only' stop.

Your accusation/implication is out of line. It is, IMO, trolling, which is not permitted on these boards. I will not take your bait, but I will explain what I wrote, since I guess you didn't understand, or chose to read something else into it.

Someone asked:

Obviously there can be problems with anything BUT - any solid recommendations? Are the companies banned from the Disboards better?

The only way I know of, other than Googling every site listed on the airport's site (I'm going to assume that nobody has the time or patience to do so), to answer the question, since there are a few good companies who can't be discussed on this site, is to suggest looking at other websites for reviews/information. I did not suggest a website to look at or attmept to name one of the "banned" companies.

Okay....we all know that there have been companies that have shown less than good judgement in their postings here on the DIS and the site owner has decided to not allow them to be here anymore. Does this make these companies bad, or to assume they have given bad service? No, not at all. They have just gone against board guidelines and the owner has made a choice..plain and simple.

There has been no 'trolling' here, just attempts to help out a poster with a simple question. I am well aware of what is 'against board guidelines' and what is, and isn't, permitted. There will be no further talk of banned companies..in any context. Banned means banned.

Now...as has been said, a multiple of times here...there are many good car service companies in Orlando. There have been several mentioned..I'm sure others will be mentioned. Either discuss the relative merits of these companies or don't post.
That goes for all of you!!!!

I mentioned FL Tours, Tiffay, Murray Hill and even Ed all seem to get good reviews. Four solid recommendations. YaYaGoofy has a list of 4 smaller companies that he feels give good service. Ducklite, a former, poster had a favorite company I don't remember the name of the company.

Sorry I misunderstood the intention of your post, the section I bolded gave me the wrong impression. Sorry again.

I think ducklite's company may have been Happy Limo but I could have a faulty memory.

It was Lorden or Southern (Elegance?). My memory is it was a little more expensive then the services most posters recommend but she thought the extra money was well worth it. I think she even had a specific driver.

Mears offers a town car service. It's more expensive the most of the other companies, they don't offer a free grocery stop but the company is solid.
