Can anyone that's been to Rome and have used car service from Rome to port of Civitavecchia recommend local companies?
Tons of options when I google but I wanted to see what Dis folks have used and recommend.
Looking for a service similar to happy limo/Tiffany etc in Orlando.

We'll try to use the train from Rome to the port but wanted to have a plan B in case we can't find tickets or there's issues with taking the train.

TIA

Very easy to work with. About $150 each way for our family of four. Others in our FB group used the train without issue, but I didn't want to mess with it. The walk from the train to the ship looked to be a little longish if you have a lot of luggage, whereas the transportation company was able to pull right up to the cruise terminal. It was a nice stress free way to start the cruise for only $150. But I hear the train is easy too.

Thank you so much for this.
Can I ask you, from the train station to the terminal, did you see ppl walking? We're all used to walk so the distance is not a problem, just wanted to know if it's walkable and if there's ppl walking to the terminal.
We'll have 2 pcs of luggage each so don't want to appear like gypsies schlepping our stuff and look weird.

I'll second this option. We used them from the airport to our hotel (Waldorf Cavalieri) and from the hotel to Civitavecchia. Couldn't have been more pleased with the service. Super easy. One thing to note, this driver can take you into the port all the way to your ship. If you walk, once you get to the port, it still may be a hike to the bus pickup to take you to your terminal.

I've done both car service and train.

For car service, we used Civitavecchia ShuttleExpress, which was only 140€ for the one-way transfer. Our driver with CSE was a few minutes early, and they came with a huge Mercedes with the middle seats turned around facing us, like a limo. We left at 10:10am and arrived at Port at 11:30pm. There were lots of people walking with bags that were dropped off near the port entrance, but still a long ways from the ship. I felt for them! Make sure your driver is allowed to go all the way to the ship!

For train, we did it as a port excursion (sans luggage). That said, I think it would be easy to do with luggage. I ended up buying two BIRG tickets for me and DW for 12€ each. These allow unlimited use of the trains between Civitavecchia and Rome for a single day, plus all of the buses and metro stations within Rome. Children are free to use the buses and metro in Rome with a paying adult, but still have to buy tickets for the roundtrip between Civitavecchia and Rome. The train tickets for the kids were 2.30€ each, for a total of 9.20€. All in, the total cost of the tickets was 33.20€. Just be
careful on the type of trains. There are multiple trains leaving to Civitavecchia--some are Express trains (marked with an RV that are faster and more expensive) vs. local trains (marked with an REG that we could use). Note--there are not a lot of drink or food options at the station. Our train left at 3:53pm and got us to Civitavecchia at 5:05 pm. We paid a taxi driver 20€ to take us back to the ship instead of doing a 15-minute walk.

Yes - I wasn't entirely clear where the train dropped off, but it was clear there were a lot of people hauling luggage around the bay up to the port. It looked like a real roundabout walk, but doable. I would pull up a map of the port and take a look. It seemed like you had to walk to one end of the waterway, then around a big loop of water to get out to the ship. It's hard to explain in text. I am sure someone here who has walked it can give more details on whether it was as far as it looked and how hard it was with luggage. Hundreds did it, and those on our FB group didn't complain, so it couldn't be that bad. But @tidefan is right, certain companies, including the one we both used, drop you off that the doorsteps of the terminal building, which is really nice.

P.S. - The cruise absolutely rocks. Easily the best vacation of our lives so far. Enjoy it!

We used https://www.romeinlimo.com/ for transfers from the airport to the hotel, transfer from hotel to port as well as several tours while we were in Rome. Then after the cruise, we use them for transport to and from our stay in Tuscany prior to flying home from Rome. They were fantastic to work with, and we were very pleased with all of drivers and guides. We will be back in Italy next year and I will definitely use them again.

Please don't use ethnic slurs.

Thank you for all the wonderful replies - I really appreciate it.
