You may get a different driver on your departure day. Thus you want to tip the driver when you get to the hotel on arrival day, and trip the second driver when you get to the airport on departure day. If I am having a grocery stop, I tip driver # 1 more than driver # 2 because there is more work involved on arrival day due to dealing with all of my grocery bags.

We had Tiffany Towncar pick us up at Sanford Airport in March. I had requested a grocery stop. The driver insisted that the only grocery store between the Sanford Airport and Animal Kingdom Lodge was close to the airport and an hour from the hotel. I said there were grocery stores closer to the hotel; she said they would not be directly on her way and she refused to consider stopping at them. We did the grocery stop, but did not buy any perishable items due to the length of time they would have been sitting out.

I'd just add that the total tip should be ~20% of the cost of the total trip. You could look at it thusly; if the round trip is $300, then one way is $150 and a 20% tip on that is $30 for that driver.
