Hi Wesky,

I got this off a US car hire site for you:

INFANT SEATS:
By law, children under 5 years of age must be properly secured in a child passenger restraint.
IMPORTANT: Parents / Guardians will be asked to install these restraints themselves.

I'm not sure that's the whole story as far as Florida goes.
Taken from this website

http://www.dot.state.fl.us/safety/HighwaySafetyGrantProgram/hsgp/HSGPAreas_OccupantFAQ.htm

'All children 5 years of age or younger must be properly restrained no matter where they are sitting in the vehicle. Children through age 3 must be secured in a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child safety seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child safety seat, or a safety belt may be used. (FL Statute 316.613).'

So it depends on how old your children are.
Our dd is 5, ds is 4 so they are still going use booster seats, even though the law in Florida says they don't really need to.
Hope this clarifies the situation.
Ian
