Car seats and Taxi Cabs??

Hello! I am new to the boards, and we are leaving this Monday for our first trip to the World! I will be traveling with DS3 and DS2, and my DH.

Is it possible to get a taxi cab from our resort (AKL) with car seats?

I also read somewhere that car seats are not required in cabs.. . . Is this true, and is it safe?

Yes, car seats are required, and cabs generally have one in the trunk.

I don't know whether the standard taxis have 2 in the trunk, but you should at least be able to get a taxi van with 2. Check with the resort cast the night before; see if they think you need to call in advance for one with 2 car seats.

The taxi vans charge the exact same rate as the standard sedan taxis.

You might want to bring some disinfectant wipes or a purse-size can of Lysol spray.

You can, but I personally wouldn't. Generally taxi carseats are old/expired, could have recalls, and are have really low weight limits. You also have no idea if the carseat has been in an accident or not. They don't really care about safety, they just make sure they have a place for a baby to sit.

Yes, but there isn't any guarantee that they will be clean and/or safe. You would probably need to call for one ahead of time to get one with 2 seats.

Not true.

and is it safe?

It's as safe as letting them ride without a car seat at home.

Honestly, with kids that little I would just rely on Disney transportation.
