Can anyone recommend a good, sturdy car seat travel bag for a Britax Marathon car seat?

Also, what else have you pack with the car seat in the bag? I am thinking sweatshirts, shoes, etc.

Any opinions?

Much thanks!

We purchased ours at babiesrus. It was about $20. It held 1 car seat AND 1 booster seat! It worked great. It still had room to put a few stuffed animals. (both seats were Graco brand) :)

Babies R Us sells the Eddie Bauer bag and we have been able to fit our Marathon in it, it's a bit of a tight squeeze towards the top but it will fit.

We always put extra clothes in it.

We used to put beach towels, balls, and small sand toys in it if it was summer, and snow boots if we traveled in the winter (MUCH easier than wearing or lugging them). I really missed that bag when DS didn't need a car seat anymore....

Is this one with a long shoulder strap, or backpack-style straps? I would love to find a backpack-style bag for our Marathon! (jeez louise, that seat is big :))

We found one at a children's consignment store. We pack beach towels and beach toys in it, and when we get to the airport, we stuff our winter jackets in it. It was relatively inexpensive, and sure has come in handy. We rent a car in Orlando, so it's cheaper than paying the $7 daily rental fee for their car seat, plus it gives us some extra packing room! It is not a back-pack style bag. It has a large strap to sling on your shoulder, but we would just put the bag in the stroller and push it until we checked it with the rest of our luggage.

We bought the Eddie Bauer one from Babies R Us. It fits the Marathon with room to spare (not much, but we found we can shove a lot of the diapers we brought in there).

we have a roundabout & we used the eddie bauer one too. i put our coats in the bag with the seat...in the plane we left our coats in the bag & stashed it all together in the upper deck.

ps. be aware that EVERY stewart & baggage person will try to get you to check it & then tell you the seat is too big. it becomes a pita, but i just try to grim & bear it.

Wait! I didn't know you could stow it in the upper deck of the plane? What airlines was this?

I just assumed we would have to check it with our suitcases...anyone else have their car seat stowed in the upper deck?

Darn. Guess I'll stick with the one we have! (If I can find the darned thing!)

to clairify...we left the coats in the car seat bag...we used the seat bc i always buy a seat (even when we were dirt poor & only made 16k a year...we still bought a seat).

Hi thanks for starting this thread. I am just wondering whether to just curb check two Britax car seats (3 yr old twins) or bring them in the bags to the gate (with stroller). Anyone have a problem losing or having car seats damaged when checked with regular luggage? I am hoping to track down two of these car seat bags this weekend...

I am planning on padding mine, no matter what car seat bag I end up buying. We have old foam mattresses that I'm saving just for that purpose.

I'm a little nervous to check it in with the luggage, but it seems like most people haven't had any damage to their car seats.

But just to be safe, I'm going to use the mattress as padding.

Anyone else have any advice?

Thanks!
