Car Seat Pillow Recommendation

We'll be driving to Disney from PA in 1 1/2 months. My 2 DDs are 1 and 4. Everytime they fall asleep in the car, their heads always get in the most uncomfortable looking positions - especially the 4 year old.

Does anyone have any recommendations on some type of pillow for car seats that helps keep their heads more comfortable?

Thanks for your help!

I'm interested to know too! I'll be driving down in about 1 month from indiana, and my 5y/os head looks just awful. Others have suggested thoes beanie pilliows that are kinda shaped to go around your neck....

I found this Toddler Coddler although some car seat techs will probably call me out and say it's not safe because it's an aftermarket product.;) IMHO I think it would be OK to use if it was used according to the directions since it doesn't put any padding between the child's back and the carseat. But that's just my unprofessional opinion. hth.

Actully I'm a car seat tech and i really don't see how it would comparimise the carseat at all, it's just like a head rest, it's not extra padding behind the child...

I've seen other products (for less $$) elsewhere in other catalogs that are the same thing as the toddler coddler. Walmart also sells a pillow that can attach to a seatbelt (booster child) or used as a plain pillow for about $9. My DS4 has that and it works wonderfully. DS1 has the other type.

It doesn't go between the child and the carseat, so I don't think it would be a problem. We've used a small c-shaped pillow (kind of like a mini Boppy) and one of those squishy pillows, and both work fine.

It's really a coincidence to see this thread since just 3 days ago I made a set of car seat head cushions for DD. She fell asleep coming home from a day trip to the beach and her head was bobbing and it looked uncomfortable. I said to myself "This is not going to be good for the 16 hr drive to WDW" So I started planning how I'd make these things. She is in a pre-school size booster/carseat. On either side of her head are the guides for the car's shoulder strap to be threaded through BUT we don't use them yet bc. she still uses the 5 point harness that also came with the carseat and the carseat is secured by the lapbelt of the vehicle. So I got 2 pieces of foam, covered them with a pretty peach colored material. I had 4 tie-backs from curtains that I don't use anymore so I thread them through the seatbelt guides to secure the foam pillows on either side of her head. DD "tested" these and I got her approval! If anyone wants me to e-mail them a picture of this, just PM me. I've never been successful at posting pictures here in my signature, otherwise I would do that.
