car seat laws in CA

What's the current car seat laws in CA? I found some info but am not sure how recent it is.

Car seats/booster seats required for under 6 and under 60 pounds. They go by whichever is later (ie, if your child is 60 pounds but not yet 6, they'd still need it, or vice versa.)

current law is 6 yrs or 60 lbs. I went bigger, I went with 8 yrs. Now there are signs recommending 4'9" but it is not yet a law.
