I'm finishing up excursion planning for our Western Carribean Fantasy cruise and curious if anyone has taken a car seat with them on Grand Cayman. I have a Cabana booked at Royal Palms Beach Club just a few miles away on 7 mile beach. I'm told there are mini busses/ vans at the port that take you to 7 mile beach for $4 per head but do they have seat belts? We will have the car seat with us on the ship regardless because we are doing a one way car rental at MCO the day before cruise and staying in Coco Beach. Thanks.

The 4 times I have taken a cab (minivan) in Grand Cayman, they had seat belts. I think you should be fine. FYI the cab drivers there like to make sure their van is full, so you will likely be sharing the van with other families.

there are seat belts, but the minivan seats are very small. I don't know if a car seat would fit. It's a very short ride in a crammed bus. I bought a "travel carseat" for such excursions for about $40. We rented a cabana @ RP last year. We liked it a lot. Bring some cheap sand toys from home and a blow up float/raft.
