I was wondering if there is a rental car that can be dropped off at the port? We are staying at disney before the cruise and we were hoping to avoid the shuttles. If there isn't then what is the fastest and least hassle of choices for us?

we're renting from avis, they are in port canaveral and when you drop off the car they will shuttle you to the ship. i think other companies do this too.

Thank you for the quick responses. I am looking at the other place you recommended right now. Do the shuttles go at certain times or whenever they are full? Did you still get at the port early or rather late?

The shuttles leave when full and I think they start at 11:00 am or 12:00. The terminal opens at 10:30, so IMO I would rent a car & be there when it opens.

We rented from Budget. I dropped off the luggage & family at the terminal & went back to budget. Hopped on the shuttle & went back to the terminal. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A PHOTO-ID to get back into the terminal!! Wife had us checked in & went to the CM who did the check-in & got my KTTW card.

We used Avis last October. They didn't wait for the shuttle to be full. We were the only ones on the shuttle and there are only four of us. We got to the Port just after 10:30. We are using Avis again when we go back next March.

I was referring to the Disney shuttles that they use to get from MCO to Port....

jax677........I just want to clarify shuttle vs. buses....DCL uses buses (transfers) to transport guests from WDW or airport to the port.

The rental agencies use shuttles to transport guests from rental location to port.

I just did not want anyone to get confused since the term shuttle was used two different ways.

The DCL buses wait until they are filled up at WDW or the airport before they head to the port. The first ones do not get there until about 11:30 or so. The last ones do not get there until much later. So, if you want to get to the port early then use a rental car.

Ah, now I understand. We are going to use the shuttle from 'Budget.

So, my husband can drop me off at the terminal, he can return the car at budget and take the shuttle back to the terminal right? That sounds easy enough.

Since I will check in without him what does he need to check in with? Just his passport?

Thank you all for this much information. As you can see I am new here and I am already getting tons of information.
