Car rentals?

We are going to WDW in August and first staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins and then transferring to Kidani (Grand Villa!!!). On the day of transfer, I think we will rent a car so that my sister and I can grab luggage for transfer and then run to the grocery store for our stay at Kidani. Any advice for rental - do they drop off at Fort Wilderness and then pick up at AKV? Who has the best prices? Any ideas, I would appreciate including which grocery store to go to... although I'm more interested in the car rental at this point.

We rented from National at the Dolphin. The pick up and drop off was really easy. We were staying at BWV so I only had to walk over to pickup the car. On drop off day, since we were staying at VWL, so we walked over to Epcot, spent a few hours there, and then caught the bus back.

I believe there is also a drop off/pick up station near the MK that has a shuttle.

We have used Enterprise, they do pick up which is nice, and the Alamo at the Buena Vista Palace Hotel which is right across the street from the first bus stop at DTD so is very easy to get to.

The Enterprise rate was reasonable. The Alamo rate was great, all in it was less than $20 for the day for a decent sized vehicle. The rates can vary significantly. I think we used one of the codes from Mousesavers.com
