Car Rentals - Thrifty vs. Dollar

I have a reservation with Dollar for Aug 2 - 13 (airport location). They were the cheapest on-site airport location I had found for my dates. I just checked and Thrifty is about $70 cheaper. I haven't used a car rental company in years. I am looking for feedback on these two companies. Any information you can provide is much appreciated.

Dollar owns Thrifty. So they are really like the same company. Go with the cheaper

I haven't rented from either one in a long time because they charge $10/day extra for the additional driver.

I used Thrifty last trip. With the blue chip I went directly to the garage, located my name on the sign and row my car was in. I was out the door with in 15 of getting my luggage.

Returning I was not asked for gas receipts or where it was filled. It was returned in about a minute.
We have not needed a second driver, but are any companies free anymore?
