Car rental

I am going to move this over to the transportation board for you

As far as onsite options at MCO, I suggest Budget or Avis. Usually, they have competitive prices and good vehicles. If your willing to take a short ride (5 mins) offsite, many people have suggested Hertz to me in the past....

Can anyone recommend a good one at Orlando Airport? Thanks.

mxtiger67,

I recommend the cheapest deal you can get from the big agencies. Stay away from the off-brands as some people had bad experiences with them.

What are your dates and what car type are you looking for?

From your ticker it looks like you are going soon! I'm so jealous!

Have you found anything in the rental dept? What are your dates of travel (Im too tired to do the math) and what size car are you looking for? There are a few big name agencies with counters at the airport including (but not limited to) Dollar, Alamo, and National. All currently have promotions and codes you can use to get better deals. You can check www.mousesavers.com for codes...but if you post your dates here and type of car I can try to help you. You can also PM with this info if you want. My passion is trying to find everyone a GREAT car rate!

We're getting to Orlando on August 10th @3pm and leaving on August 17th @10am. We're not looking for anything big, since it's only 2 adults and a child. So, the cheaper the better.
Thanks everyone.
Is it August yet?! I'm counting the days!

We have used Alamo and Dollar. Both are onsite. We had good experiences with both. I would definately visit mousesavers.com and go through all the discount codes and go with the cheapest I could find. We used Thrifty offsite and it was worth the savings to take a shuttle, even with all the kids.

Looks like convertibles are the cheapest thing for that week. Never drove one so not sure if the back seat would be ok for a child...

National has one for $188.73 using the $20 off coupon at the National web site, and the Vacation Outlet contract ID 5042947.

If you find a convertible won't work, you can get a compact from Alamo for $194.35 including taxes and fees (go to vacationoutlet.com and use the one free day coupon)

Okay - this is my suggestion.

Use the mousesavers link and join the Emerald Club with National Car Rental. It is free using the link and I believe you get an email with your member number and such immediately. If your card doesn't come before you leave you can probably use the email to verify your membership.

Then I found an intermediate car for $164.68/total. If you book this under your Emerald Club membership you get to bypass the counter and pick any car off the Emerald Aisle for the same low price! You could end up with a full-size car for that price!

Of course - if you don't want to join National then you don't have to and you would get an intermediate car (Pontiac G6 or the like) for that price.

Here's the details to get that price:
Contract ID: 6402639
Coupon Code: ND41

Good luck! Have a WONDERFUL trip!
