Saw this car rental savers link on another post and put in dates, Christmas week, for a car. Got a good rate at about $265 from Budget. All others I had tried directly thru Alamo, National, etc. have been in the $600-$700 range. May be too early to get anything decent with codes. My question - has anyone actutally used this car rental savers site and picked up car? I'm a bit nervous first, I can't really check directly with Budget and are there any other fees when I get there??? Second, never used Budget - last week just used Alamo again with no problems and have also used National before. Please let me know if someone has actually used them.. Many thanks as always!:cool1:

The best rates I have seen are from Dollar. Go through BJ's website and grab the promo code. You can join BJ's as a 'try it out' monthly membership. (Actually I don't think you need a card at all, but better safe than sorry.)

I have used car rental savers several times and am likely using them again in October. I like how easy it is to check numerous companies with various discounts. Recently, I have found the AARP discount for Alamo has been the best for us (additional driver and cap on liability inlcuded in cost). -- Suzanne

I have a Budget minivan booked with carrentalsavers for Nov. I made the reservation online and then called Budget to ask a question about the confirmation and they said everything was fine and the rate was valid. BTW we used Budget last Nov because they had the best rates at that time and had no problems at all.

I've used this site and have always got the best deal from Enterprise. BUT, about 10 days before each trip I've always beaten the price with Priceline (which always is Alamo).

So, I've gotten good deals but never actually rented a car through them.

Thanks for the replies! Guess I will call Budget directly to see if they have my reservation. My main concern was not having a car available when we arrive Xmas Eve and having to pay $700! I was also concerned about maybe having "extra fees" or some hidden insurance I would have to pay for.

I am using them for the first time for my trip at the end of August. Minivan rates are through the roof, more than $800 a week with no sign of going down. Through CarRentalSavers.com I got a rate of $413 (total) for 9 days at Budget. I usually use Alamo through Costco or Priceline.

We used them last Christmas for a mini van- it was through Thrifty- I could also go on Thrifty's site and check the reservation with the confirmation number. All was fine-Thrifty tried to sell us on the extra insurance at the counter......we declined. At the time the code used via car rental savers required the Orlando magicard I think it was called- had to go to their site print out the card. That card also included free extra driver.

Hi Lizzytish. I used it. And for me it is effective. There are no problems at all on using them. :D
