Hello. We are scheduled to cruise on the Fantasy June 18, 2022. We have a rental car that needs to be returned the morning of the cruise. Which option would you choose:

1 - husband drop family at the terminal, turn in car and shuttle back. We would wait to test together until he returns. Can we wait for him?
2 - take a shuttle from the hotel to the port after the car has been returned?
3 - turn in the car and take the car rental shuttle to the port?

We are traveling with another family that will also have a rental car. We are looking for the best way to minimize the chaos of turning our rental cars in and COVID testing at the port on Embarkation day.

What have you done that has worked well?

We did option 3. If they're still doing port testing and strict port arrival times on your cruise day, I would highly recommend option 3.

If you DM me I can give you a little more specific info.

Thank you. DM sent.

We did option 3 back in 2019 and it worked really well. We rented from National and it was just a 5 minute or so ride over to the terminal. Baggage porters are right there ready to take your luggage. We are cruising in July and plan on doing the same especially now that we have to get tested.

Before COVID I would have 100% said drop everyone at the terminal with the luggage, have 1 adult drive the car back and take the rental car shuttle back to the port. (Lots of reports in the past about people having to wait an excessive time for a rental car shuttle when they have a large group and lots of luggage as opposed to a single person with no bags being able to easily squeeze on a shuttle.) Assuming that your whole party needs to test together I think you are stuck with #3. (If you do #2, how are you getting back from the car rental return to the hotel in order to take a hotel shuttle?)
