Car Rental Rates: - Are these rates any good?

1. Would you consider any of these good rates??
i) MCO Dec 17-31 (2 weeks) intermediate car (National): $211 including taxes and fees
ii) Flying in MCO - Flying out TPA same as above (National): $218 including taxes and fees

Above rates using priceless code/ent. coupon

iii) Flying in TPA - Flying out TPA intermediate (Thrifty): $356 including taxes and fees using Walmart code
iv) Flying in Sarasota - Flying out Sarasota (my first choice since holiday will be spent in Siesta Key ) (Dollar) economy car: $331 including taxes and fees - no code

It seems the rates are much less for MCO then TPA and SRQ

it does seem your MCO rates are better! 2 weeks for about $200....that's a good price....IMHO.
ETA: especially around Christmas!!!!

I have a full sized car through National for the week of Aug. 30th to May 7th for $114.50 including all charges and taxes. I'm pretty happy with this.

You might check Expedia or one of the other travel websites and see what kind of rates you get. You have to compare your exact dates, because car rental rates vary all over the place. The travel sites will give you a comparison between a number of car companies.

Be careful that you are comparing similar vehicles. With one rental company, a particular model of automobile might be a "compact," with a different company, that same car might be a different category and different rate. Compare cars, not categories of rentals.

Watch out for "preferred" listings. Some of the sites charge companies to have their cars listed first. Click on the link to sort by price before you start doing any comparisons - the lowest price may not even be on the first page you look at when you first search.

Also, if you are going to drop the car off at a different location than you rented from, check the details of all of the quotes closely. All of the companies charge more (usually) for different drop-offs, but some list the fee and others just build it into the basic rental price. Look at the TOTAL rental cost for an accurate picture, not the per day rate.
