I have a few questions about car rentals. Has anyone ever had a problem with turning down their insurance? Did you have to show a copy of your insurance policy? Any problems because it is Canadian insurance? We are getting a car included with our package-but I think the local taxes might be extra. Has anyone paid taxes locally and if so, approximately how much did they all add up to? Thanks.

We had a car from Alamo last December(with a package)We turned down the insurance because our insurance includes rental cars.My DH did have to show the insurance slip. There is no problem with it being Canadian insurance(they dont even bat an eye because they see them everyday)The total charged for our car locally was $56.34US broken down like this:

Fuel charge($1.59 a gallon,14.3 gallons in our Cavalier) 22.74
Privilege Fee recovery charge 8.53
Florida Charges($2/ day surcharge and .05/day battery&tire fee) 14.35
License recoupment fee of .30 per day 2.10
Taxes 8.62
_______
56.34
Hope this helps.
