I am hoping that someone has rented a Jeep Wrangler through Alamo or Enterprise. Specifically, I would like to know if they are hard-top or soft-top. We are concerned about storing a hard-top while staying at a hotel. That hassle would take some of the pleasure out of renting one.
I have sent requests for answers from Alamo and Enterprise and haven't received a response, nor am I having any luck using 'contact us' phone numbers.
Any intel would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I own a Wragler and I'll say I love driving doorless & topless. That said there are some downsides to be aware of. With the top off, the panels out or a soft top you have zero security for locking up valuables. With frequent rain storms around Orlando you need to be aware of the need to protect the Jeep interior if the top is off. With all the electronics in the new ones this could be an issue.

Chances are if you have a hard top Jeep they won't let you take the whole top off, just the two "freedom panels" which is enjoyable, but can create some wicked buffeting noises in the back. Unless you already own a Wrangler you won't know how heavy that top is. It's pretty much one solid piece including the back glass - you break it you buy it type of thing. I haven't seen the new models being rented, so could be they are including the new Sky One-Touch tops which are power tops, but I doubt they would have one since they normally rent the base model Jeeps.

I know places like Hawaii its very common to rent a soft top jeep, I just can't say I've seen then on my trips to Orlando & Tampa. You'll really need to keep trying to get a response from the rental place to see if it's even an option. With all the bad weather and Covid a lot of call centers have been hit hard.

Chances are that they probably have both and if that's the case, you'll never get them to commit to which one you will get.

Ours from Alamo was a hard top and we never planned on removing it. There were only hard tops in the garage. I have never seen soft at MCO. SteveH is right Im not sure you would want to remove the top in Orlando. It was solid and weather is unpredictable. Also Alamo is first come first serve and are notorious for subbing cars in your category. You are never really guaranteed to get the exact car you rented. Thats why it says in car type "or similar"...though maybe if it is under a specialty car class it might be guaranteed. I only ended up with it because the standard car class I rented was not available.
