Hello - I just made a reservation with Hertz for a rental car and my confirmation email says "The reserved rate is subject to change". Does this mean that when they raise the prices it will automatically go up? What is the point reserving if you can't hold the price? Sorry if this is a stupid question - I have never had to rent a car before. Thanks for the help.

Michelle

They say that but I haven't seen it happen. I rent quite often from Hertz and have never seen the rate raised.

Thanks for the response safetymom - I hope my rate doesn't change - especially since my trip is so far in advance (6/5/06).

Thanks again
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

I agree with Safetymom, but another thing I'd suggest is that you keep calling Hertz about once a week between now and your trip. Tell them your confirmation number and ask if the rate has gone DOWN.

Many times it will go down, and they will simply adjust your rate to the new lower one.

Good luck!

Bob

No need to call. You can check the rates on the website. Just go to change your reservation. If the rate is lower book at the lower rate. If it is the same just leave the reservation as is.
