We are staying in a rental house from Dec. 25-Jan 3 and we will need a rental car, is it cheaper to rent from somewhere other than the airport? My daughter lives in Orlando so she could pick us up and take us to a different rental location if it would save us some money. Where is the best place to rent from? Thanks

We're going down between Dec 23 and Jan 1, so I've priced rental cars for a period somewhat similar to you. I've generally found the non-airport locations to be a little cheaper. As for the best place with the lowest rate, it really depends on what size you want to rent. I would suggest going to mousesavers.com and check out the section on Rental Cars. They provide a lot of codes you can use to get discounts (although not many extend through your dates).

For what it's worth, we've reserved a full size for 12/13 to 12/31 from the Dollar located at the Grosvernor Resort near DTD for about $230. Hopefully, we'll be able to find something cheaper as the dates draw closer.

Rentals are high that week. Plus "local locations" will be closed on the 25th, you'll have to pick up the car on the 26th.

Renting from DollarCar.com with pickup at the Holiday Inn International Drive looks cheapest, you can return the car to the airport if you wish. Pick up the car on the 26th at about the same hour that you'll be returning it on the 3rd to avoid extra hour charges.

Reserve NOW because the rates are going to go up as soon as they notice that the Holiday Inn is posting such low rates. You are under no obligation...they don't take payment up front so you can cancel if you wish.

ORLS02 is the code for Holiday Inn International Drive pickup location

MCO is the return location (airport)

MCOS01 is the Grosvenor Resort Lake Buena Vista. This is another possible pickup location with a decent rate, ask your daughter which of the two you should schedule for your pickup on the 26th (and check...they might just be open on the 25th)
