Car rental need to knows..

Renting a car and driving actually gives me some anxiety however it’s the only way to make my 1.5 day trip successful.

I will be taking the earliest flight I can, getting the rental (enterprise) and then going straight to magic kingdom. Then the next day going to HS and then I need to drive to St. Petersburg after my day at HS.

what do I need to know? I’m one who would always prefer to use ME and the park busses.. but I was to use my limited time efficiently..

When going to HS, try to arrive exactly 1 hour before park opening. Too early and they'll loop you around.

Know your route before you go, but also plug into your gps on your phone. Plug into car if it has a screen.

I made a rookie mistake of not refueling before returning the car. I knew better, but don't do this! Lol. It's really costly.

Always refill the gas tank to avoid excessive added fees. You can fill up and drive 20+ miles before the gas gauge shows any change, so you don't have to fill up right at the airport entrance. Fill up the night before to save travel time. Say "NO" to any of the added things the rental car company tries to push on you. You don't need them and most are just money makers for the rental company. If doing minimal driving, find the right vehicle for the size of your party and the amount of luggage you will have. Their idea of 'midsize' is my idea of compact, so be sure to check their website for examples of the specific vehicles in each category.

Not clear if you are returning to the same airport when done. Some rental companies charge an added drop off fee if you return the car to another location.
