Yay!!! I'm glad I listen to DISboards. I've been checking... and checking... and the car rental rate for our week (Feb 8th 2010), just came down a bit!
So now we have 5 days at $172 total for a compact, down from $208 (which was for an economy no less)!

Maybe not a lot, but every bit counts I say. (That's more money to spend in Downtown Disney!)

I had a reservation through Dollar the same week. I have 7 day's at less then $200.00 was about $230.00

Good for you!!! I always keep checking - the last time I rented a car I originally booked it for $230 and got it down to $125!! :cool1:

It's with Dollar - if you go directly to their site, click through on the "hot deal for this city" button (at least, I *think* that's what the button said?). The lowered price pops up on the compact model. It's $122 for 5 days, but with taxes & everything works out to $172.

I'm going to keep checking..... here's hoping the price drops even more......

We are renting from the Grand Rapids area and am excited to say the price to rent a minivan from 2/4 to 2/22 dropped $300!!!

We just rented a car for 3 days for $147 (all taxes included), so you got a great rate!

I am a firm believer in hotwire and priceline! Except, I should have waited. Find a rate you can live with somewhere else. Then two to three weeks out, start looking at hotwire and priceline. All except Hertz is in terminal. I couldn't find a reservation for less than 185, so when I got it on hotwire for 156, I was thrilled....until I checked back and found it for 108 two weeks til my trip! I will always go there if I am renting from the airport, that is for sure!

You have to keep checking. So far I've dropped my 10 day full size rental about $100 for our mid January trip. The beginning of January I'll try PriceLine.

With Priceline do you run the risk of getting a rental place off airport grounds?

Priceline uses hertz, avis, alamo, national, and one other I can't remember. The only one that is off site is Hertz. So, there is a chance. I think the last time I did it, I got Avis. I'll take the risk for a much lower rate!
