Car rental info?

Do any of you know of any good deals with car rentals? We are planning on driving down, booked for March 26-April 3...Don't want to put the wear and tear on my vehicle this time

any discounts, etc that anyone knows of?

I don't have any deals but when I am looking for a rental car I always google codes fro the car rental companies in the area that I plan to rent from. Also keep in mind that sedans are MUCH cheaper than SUVs or minivans.

Also, be sure to check what the rental car company's policy is about taking vehicles out of the state for long distances. DH had an unpleasant occurrence with this while on a business trip and was unaware that the vehicle could not go beyond x miles out of the state.

Looking through Avis it would cost us $330 to rent a full size car for 12 days, not bad. I just don't want to put the wear and tear and mileage on my Van again. Avis is unlimited mileage so we'll probably go with this deal!

If you are booking through Avis I would try www.sears.com and on the bottom of page it has an icon sears websites...click this and then on car rental tab. I did this last year and saved 25% !!! Also try www.carentalsavers.com for some codes to other companies.

The rates seem really high for next year so far...I hope they go down after the New Years !! Until then I keep checking.
