Trying to rent a car in June, but the prices are crazy!!!! I am reading where people are getting these great deals on rentals..where are they???? We are renting and driving to WDW, so we aren't renting in Orlando.
If anyone has any ideas where I can look or has codes let me know. I did put in the code for Alamo...d42c...but it didn't really lower the price much...total for one week was $477!!!!

Thanks!

Hello from La Grange! What are your dates and car size? We are going June 1st-5th and I have already had five different reservations from 3 different companies. Right now the cheapest I've found is a full size through Avis (through Sears) for $143+ total. That's going through Sears.com then to Avis and clicking on their free weekend day deal.

We only rent at least full size and sometimes premium class. Bigger cars and guaranteed not to get a Taurus. ;) Right now Dollar has a good rate for our dates on a premium class (even without a promo code). Try the sites with a discount code and without, sometimes its a cheaper rate without. I check on all the sites each day for price changes. Yes, its a pain but it can save you money in the long run.

If you are a Sam's Club member they sometimes have pretty good deals on their web site. Also Southwest runs some good car rental deals but you have to punch in your cc info to reserve so I haven't reserved anything through them yet.

We won't ever rent from Alamo (did once, never again  so I can't help you there. We use Budget, Dollar or Avis, all in terminal.

Good luck!

Edited to add: Oh sorry, just re-read your post. You aren't renting in Orlando. You might try renting from one of the neighborhood locations (not airport) in Louisville. These tend to be cheaper than the airport (generally Avis is cheaper--I've rented a few times from the Stonybrook location) and easier to get to than the airport. Their hours are much different though so keep that in mind.

Thank you sooo much!! I will look at those not at the airport, but the websites won't take you to those locations. It is just frustrating!!! I am also trying to get pricing for our trip in Sept.. Have a wonderful time while you are there!!!

I know Budget's & Avis' websites you can check other locations besides the airport one. You just need to enter the city instead of the airport code. It'll come up with different locations for Avis and Budget has like 3 other off airport locations. Dollar is only located at SDF. Not sure about Alamo or National. Did you try Enterprise? They have locations all over town. The only thing I dislike about Enterprise is they generally charge you more to drive the car out of state. Plus you have to pay more for a car with unlimited miles. Usually their rates are only for 150 miles per day.

Hope this helps and I hope you can find a good rate. :wave2:

I had a similar dilemma, renting in Delaware & driving round trip to Orlando, 10 days in June! I was getting quotes from Alamo and others of $1279 for a minivan, even using the discounts! I finally found a fairly decent rate with Avis - $534.00, I used the Walmart contract code & Entertainment Book $20 off discount..
good luck!
