Car Rental in April-Easter Week

Hi-

I was just wondering if anyone has rented a car during Easter break. I was finally able to get a rate of $316 for those 6 days--it was over $700. Is the norm for that time of year since it's peak time?

Easter tends to be more expensive for everything...I booked a rental for 10 days the week after Easter for about $400(taxes includeD)...I'll keep looking for better rates, but this is about the same as we paid this past Easter.

Last year I traveled at Easter and was able to find a code for a minivan $199 for 7 nights. With taxes it came to about $320. This year I need a van for 10 nights and the best with taxes I could find was $600. I was getting prices for $1000++. So in a sad way, I am pleased with $600.

I just booked our Easter Trip. I don't see any codes past 2009...what are you renting?

Hi--thanks for all the feedback.

I have an Emerald Club membership so I signed into National and my base rate is $310 for a midsize car with that contract code.
I have an Entertainment book and the free day coupon is good through June 2010. The coupon is taking $62 off.
I will continue to check for lower rates but at least it sounds like I am on track.
