Car Rental from 4/14 to 4/21 over $600?/

Who in the world can afford a vacation when they are wanting 600-800 for a weekly car rental. I'm talking just a mid size car too (nothing fancy).

Can someone give me some input? I had a car for 300 last year for a week during the same time.

Check both National and Thrifty, they had a few good deals for our trip in May and may have good rates for your time. I went to their respective sites and did not go through a travel site like expedia. We got 8 days for $250.

Is the week the OP is visiting a popular vacation week? It could simply be supply & demand.

OP, you're reserving the week before Easter, a VERY busy week.

Last year, Easter was much earlier (April 4). So, if you're comparing to 2010 it's understandable why the rates are higher for the same period.
