Car rental drop near/at DLH?

Hi,

We plan to fly into San Jose airport, pick up a car rental for our coastal trip/towns and then when we get to DLH, drop the rental off so we don't have to pay for parking 6 nights at the hotel. (We will take the shuttle to SNA/John Wayne when our trip is over.)

Is there anywhere near or at DL where you can drop a rental car? Which rental companies?

Has anyone done this? How did you get to DLH after you dropped off the rental car?

There is an ALAMO car rental in Downtown Disney. I believe it is very close to the Disneyland Hotel, but not sure on exact location.

Alamo is right around the corner from where the Compass bookstore is/was.

If you go with most of the major rental car companies they will also have rental desk with a shuttle to thier drop off/pick up site.

Avis, Dollar, National, Budget Hertz..... this may help save money.

If we drop off at any of those sites, they'll shuttle us to DLH? For free?

Alamo is right around the corner from where the Compass bookstore is/was.

I'll keep this in mind but it may not be the company we choose to use. Not sure yet. The rental car is one of the few things my sister is willing to look up and decide. I'm planning most of the trip.

The lots are remote and they shuttle you to, from them from thier rental desk location. I've heard of some taking people to and from thier hotel, and have seen the vans picking or dropping people off. I'm not sure that they can go to the Disney hotels.

If you go with Alamo, you could always drop your party/bags off at the DLH, then return the car, then the one person that returned the car can walk back to the DLH with no bags or people.

Also easy to do similarly with the other companies except the single person could cab back to the DLH ...

Btw Enterprise has a location by the Convention Center which would be a 10 minute walk or so back, or they will do drop off for free.
