Car Rental at San Pedro

I am going to rent at LAX for five days, but want to drop off the car before our cruise. What is the CLOSEST car rental agency to port? Or maybe I could drop the car off in Orange Co. and take a shuttle to San Pedro? Any thoughts?

There's an Enterprise location just across the street from the dock. Not sure if it will work for you, but it's something to look into. They're on Harbor Blvd in San Pedro. Enterprise site says they're open until 12 noon on Saturdays.

I called the Enterprise office and they do not do one way rentals. There is a Budget on Ocean Ave. and Hertz is downtown. This info comes from another thread.

We rented from Budget, Ocean Ave. location, when we sailed into San Pedro on our Feb cruise this year and returned the car at the Ontario airport location. You will have to take a taxi to or from San Pedro as the location is not walking distance. But it was easy to do and not much of a problem at all.

You can do the reverse as well. Drop off a one way at the Ocean Ave. Budget location and they'll get a taxi for you to the pier.

The taxi cost was about 15.00 each way.

We are doing a one-way rental to Long Beach location. Hertz recommends taking a taxi from there. I don't know how much it costs (6 miles of mainly freeway) but I am not anticipating it being that expensive because if you rent one-way with Hertz after you get off the ship, Hertz reimburses the cab fare.
