Car rental at Disney?

This is a stupid question - is there anywhere to rent a car at Disney? I wouldn't want to have to drive from the airport (and we're looking forward to using Magical Express), but it would be really nice if we could rent and return one on site!

I checked the Alamo site out of curiousity, and found a location called, "Orlando- Walt Disney Car Care Cntr." Is that nearby?

There is a car rental place on site - and they have a shuttle service (not the fastest) that will take you and pick you up from your hotel.

We did that this last year, we took a shuttle from the airport, but rented a van at WDW. It was pretty easy except we missed the shuttle so we had to take the next one (30 minutes later).

If you're on time, it's pretty painless.

On our last trip in Nov. we just needed a minivan for one 24 hour period since we used ME to get to/from airport but wanted to make a grocery store run AND wanted to drive to hotel dinner that night. Rented thru Alamo at Car Care Center and it was a piece of cake...picked me up at Old Key West to get vehicle and then when I returned the minivan to the Car Care Center the next day (with my group of 6 on board!), the shuttle driver dropped us all off at EPCOT which is where we wanted to be for the day. No problems and I got great service, quick and courteous!

Alamo and National have 2 on-site locations - the CCC near MK entrance and at the Dolphin. If you rent from the CCC, you have to schedule a shuttle to pick you up at you resort. If you rent from the Dolphin, you can walk or ride the Friendship boats (or busses from AK or MK) to there from MGM or Epcot - especially good if you are staying at an Epcot resort!!!

There's also a Budget at the Doubletree Hotel at Downtown Disney.

Woo hoo!!! And here I thought it was asking for too much!

Now we might be able to rent a car so we don't spend as much time on the buses!

Yes you can I rented last year from National and it was a piece of cake. Just remember to call night before to sch. a pick up. It was great since I was staing at POFQ getting to resorts for breakfast and dinner would have been a hassel. This year will be different as I am staying at WL and will be a lot easier so no rental will be needed except for maybe one day.
