Car rental and double wide stroller?

Hi,
Thinking of renting instead of using towncar service. My only concern is fitting double-wide stroller into "full size" trunk as well as luggage for family of 4. Full size rental refers to Taurus or Intrepid type cars. I don't want to go any larger than this as it becomes too costly in which case I'd just use the service. Any input appreciated!
