Car Renatl newbie please help?

Hi,
We have booked cheap airfare into Tampa and will rent
a car from the terminal there to drive to WDW. I have not rented
a car for years.I am trying to make sense of the codes and coupons.I thought of
joining EC but will I get the membership packet in time to fly Jan 19.
They sign up form says 4-6 weeks. Do I need to show the card at the
rental counter? Can I book in advance without the packet? Is the EC
the best way to go?Any help or cost saving tips on any car rental companies would be greatly appreciated.

I think the EC along with DC is the greatest. You can sign up for FREE online and receive your EC number and print out a copy of the card to bring with you. With the number and copy of card, you're all set to go.

You can also register at any National Counter by bringing the registration. I registered at my local airport and got the EC card on the spot.

Thanks for the quick replies.
It seems like there are so many coupons,codes
clubs etc.... it is hard to know which one is the best deal.
