A friend of mine came over today to show off her new car. It was under the guise of visiting my daughter (still a pretty new baby), but I know she wanted to show off a little, which was fine with me... Anyway, I told her I liked her new car and we chatted about it a little and she mentioned how much her car payment was. I about fell out of my chair! I've never had a car payment before (my parents bought my first car and then we've paid cash for the others) so I have no idea what is typical, but I can't imagine paying her car payment every month of $400.00....
So I'm wondering, if you have one, what's your monthly car payment?

We were just talking today that we are going to drive our current car until its dead, and save up to pay as much cash as possible towards the next one.

That said, our current payment is around $250.
I have a friend who pays over $500!! :scared1: I also can't imagine

My company pays mine but it's $947 a month for my BMW roadster.

:banana:NOTHING!!! As of this month!

well $400 is cheap for us....we pay 425 for a 2007. and 855 a month for hubby's big truck.

292$ but next month is our last payment.. thank god.

ETA our other we paid cash for and I hope that's the only way we buy a car (lol van) from now on.

We had a payment of $350 on our 2007 Nissan, but we paid the whole thing off.

Our Dodge Journey (2009 bought in 2008) is $380 and that included a substantial down payment.

I prefer no more than $350.

Oh and my payment are rounded up, not actual amounts. We pay a bit more each month on the payment. The Dodge is really $372, but we round up to $380.

OP, i know how you feel, i've never had a car payment over $250.00, so a $400.00 car payment would likely scare me away from the car dealership, lol. with that said though, i can't blame your friend for wanting to come over and show it off-in her shoes, i would also use any excuse to come visit your new baby! she's gorgeous!

My new-to-us Ford Expedition is right at $270/month on A 3 year note. Totally worth it to me. We had an older Expy that saved our lives last spring. So it didn't take much to get be back in another one. My Jeep Wrangler is paid off.

We picked a payment of $800+ a month because I wanted a very short loan & low interest rate. Then I sent in $1000 every month to pay that sucker off fast! I do this anytime we ever buy something on credit. Including our mortgage when we had one.

Can't remember the days of $200 payments.

Wow.

i got a brand new 2008 Dodge Avenger in 2007, and it's just over $300/month, but i pay a good bit more. i'm currently several months ahead, so it's being applied to the principle. i'm debating getting the charger... or camaro... in a few years, but i know once i saw the payment, i'd change my mind. it's JUST a car. and i love mine! (it's MY first car!!)

i could not imagine paying more for my car/month than my house! our mortgage is less than $600! and while we could currently afford a newer/bigger/nicer house, i am too cheap! this one is just fine, thanks.

Our is almost $300 for a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer Ext. We will never pay over $300 a month. We would like to get it back closer to $250 like it was with our Envoy(not XL).

Mine is 291.00 for my 2010 Mazda CX7. Husband pays something around 400.00 for his Dodge truck, which is almost paid off!

wow.. Id love to pay $400..

My car payment is $715 and my husbands is $571-- thank goodness we only have 3 more payments left on his automobile.. Cant wait to get it paid off!
