Car parking - what would you do?

Not the most exciting of topics but I have a dilemma!

For our christmas trip we are staying three nights at DLP but then have a night in central paris booked. Our car is a Renault scenic and we need a roofbox - so its's quite tall, too tall it appears for any underground garage parking in Paris. Our hotel in Paris is on the Trocodero so easily accessed by train, we had planned on driving in but I feel uneasy relying on finding some street parking (and wasting time in Paris driving round and getting irratable!). DH suggested that we leave the car at DLP, pack an overnight bag and take the train in.

And so here is my dilemma - to leave the car at DLP overnight, we are staying at the Cheyenne, do we just risk it and leave the car in the car park and return to it the next day? Can I park (and pay - which I'm quite happy to do) in the main car park but leave the car overnight? Or can I pay the hotel to leave the car at the hotel? - Has anyone ever done either of these things before?

Thanks!

We were going to leave the car for a few days at DLP once while we went to a car park the other side of Paris but we changed our mind at the last minute and booked extra nights at DLP instead. I had asked the same question and been advised by lots of people on here that we might have difficulty leaving it. However if its only for one night andyou have already got the car there it might not be a problem.
I certainly wouldnt recomend driving into Central Paris

Which hotel are you staying in? Trocadero is a nice area to stay in - we stayed in the Best Western there a couple of times

Hi Small World - thanks for your reply! I looked at the Best Western (looks lovley) but we are staying at the citadines which is a 1 bed appt, with sofa bed and kitchen, perfect when travelling with a little person and my Mum. I'm quite excited as I have never stayed so centrally before or seen the Tower lit up night :)

I have actually convinced DH that we won't need the roofbox as we don't need to take nearly as much baby stuff as we did last time now DS is a bit older - so we can actually park at the hotel in the garage now. I know driving in Paris seems bonkers but we have done it a few times before - including round the Etoile :rolleyes1 We must be mad!

I think I would have risked it though if it came to it - after all we do have park tickets for that day, and then we could have legitamatly been in the village till gone midnight, so I think one night would have been ok - a bit cheeky - but ok!

Anyway thanks for your thoughts :)
